Episodes 2 and 3 both leaked because of an adultswim.com error and they are both AMAZING.

I loved episode 3, not spoiling a damn thing about them though.

Holy shit, episode 4 might be my favorite non-Hannibal episode of television of the year so far.

How does this show keep getting better?
After each episode this season I've thought "okay, that was a masterpiece, so the next episode is probably gonna be a bit of a disappointment, there's no way they can maintain this level of quality." And then the next episode surpasses the previous one!

I love that the giant floating space heads, when seen from behind, still had buttholes.

@goldenshandard A very Rick and Morty touch; the show likes its random asses (like when Morty visits a planet of disembodied asses in this very episode.)

Can we talk about Ice-T, or, I'm sorry, Water-T? Because I could watch an entire episode about him CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS.

Man, some shows just have episodes that distill what they're all about and what they do best to their core. Maybe not the best episode (although in this case, strong contender, if not a shoe-in), but definitely the most genuinely in its element. If you want to give someone a good introduction, you might show them the pilot, if you want to impress them, you might show them an experimental highlight in your top ten, but if you want to answer the question "What's this show's deal, anyway?" while hoping to hook them, this is the episode you show. And this was definitely Rick and Morty's.
Don't get me wrong—hurrah for tiptoeing outside the wheelhouse now and then (especially on a project Harmon's involved with, who gets bountiful returns), but this episode was just R&M's core strengths distilled—and maybe even concentrated. The premise was twisted and maybe even a little wacky but committed to fully and followed through on. I was buckled over laughing at the dialog with a joke-density I could barely keep track of (and hats fucking off to Colbert for matching Roiland's intensity and finding the wavelength so effortlessly; it was dizzying to hear him verbally spar with someone else given he usually spends most episodes talking to himself). And holy shit, was it dark. The ship cubing that guy feels absolutely tame to the paralysis, psychological warfare and conclusion to the A-plot that followed.
Holy mackeral, we're six episodes into this season and five of them have been bona fide stone cold classics. Blow me, Roiland and Harmon. Fuck you and blow me.
(I promise not to make a habit out of this, but yes, I copy-pasted this from my comment on the AVC review.)

So Rick tells his microverse that the middle finger means "peace among worlds"
Later, a microversian tells him "fuck you" and he gets mad but the microversian tells him "you said 'fuck you' means 'much obliged' "
Then, during the fight with Colbert's character, Colbert gets mad at Rick and tells him "Much obliged!" with the tone and context of "Fuck you!"
But clearly "much obliged" doesn't mean "fuck you" because of how the mayor guy used it earlier in his explanation
Is the above difficult to understand in any way? Because the idiots on Reddit will not listen to me about this

I wasn’t really impressed at first but “Get Schwifty” (the episode) has really grown on me.
WRT last night’s episode I really liked how moving to a new body altered Rick’s behavior and threatened his sense of self a bit. I think too often we treat consciousness as something apart from the meat of the brain rather than something part of it—that shifting bodies would alter Rick’s sense of self (both in the narrow, hormonally-charged-risk-taking way and the weird underlying feeling that something’s shifted and its wrong and that Rick isn’t Rick) was one of the things that made the episode really work for me.

I liked "Get Schwifty" from the get-go - Keith David is always a delight, and he gets some nicely absurd lines like 'snakemakery.' King Charles’s Butterfly I like the episode's end where Rick destroys multiple clones of himself for that reason - of course, Rick being Rick, he's considered the potential benefits of becoming effectively immortal through trading out ageing bodies for younger ones, and given his emotional issues he'd also immediately smash it brutally to pieces as soon as it's clear it wouldn't work.

This week's improv episode was a lot weaker than the first one. I like that they wanted to give it a shot again, but nothing's going to top the Fake Door commercial, Gazorpazorpfield & Ants in My Eyes Johnson from that original multi-dimensional TV concept.
The bf & I are now singing: LET ME OUT LET ME OUT THIS IS NOT A DANCE I'M BEGGING FOR HELP, I'M SCREAMING FOR HELP SOMEONE LET ME OUT
He was singing it loudly in the grocery store last weekend and people were getting alarmed. It was hilarious.
We've not forgotten about 'Get Schwifty' though because anything lame or shitty that happens is noted with a loud 'BOO NOT COOL'

I think the last episode was the worst of the season, maybe the whole show. It felt like an unusually good Family Guy episode.
The A plot and B plot were completely disconnected, and while they were both funny there was nothing there on the level of anything from Rixty Minutes. And the complete lack of emotional resonance was kind of frustrating, because it's a sequel to one of the most moving episodes of television of the last few years.

I can't disagree with any of this. And I have to add that Werner Herzog felt wasted.

Justin Roiland actually warned us in an interview a few months ago that episode 8 was going to be bad, and he apologized and "took full responsibility" for the episode on Twitter after it aired
I thought the Jerry plot was good, other than the ending, but every single improv commercial felt absolutely phoned in. I'm still not sure how that "personal space" one even made it into the final, aired version of the episode.
