This thread will be where I rank famous movie series, maybe with some commentary mostly without. You may or may not agree with them, but just know they are the right rankings.
First up Planet of the Apes
Escape from The Planet of the Apes Planet of the Apes Rise of the Planet of the Apes Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Conquest of the Planet of the Apes Battle for the Planet of the Apes Beneath the Planet of the Apes Planet of the Apes super not dope Remix
Major Takeaways: Monkeys who time travel and become celebrity sensations are truly underrated. Tim Burton is truly overrated.

Escape was good, and I could live with it up top, but Beneath the Planet of the Apes is clearly superior to the decidedly cheap-looking Battle for the Planet of the Apes as the only other one to contain original star Charlton Heston, and to introduce the cult worshiping a giant, unexploded nuclear warhead.

I just really hated the mutant stuff in the context of the series. Made for a good fallout plot though.

Today's list X-Men
X-Men Apocalypse X2 X-Men First Class Logan(pretty damn good trailer) Deadpool X-Men Days of Future Past The Wolverine X3 Origins
I haven't even see the Wolverine and I'm 100 percent sure it is better than X3 or Origins.
Series takeaway: Quicksilver is the best character, 80s music is very welcome, Brett Ratner is a turd.

Series takeaway: Quicksilver is the best character, 80s music is very welcome, Brett Ratner is a turd. This is by far the most generous I have seen anyone be toward Apocalypse, and I have a higher opinion than most. My own rankings aren't so far off. The real problem with the X-movies is that they are never as good or memorable as individual scenes they contain. So I will rank those: Nightcrawler attacks the president: X2 Opening credits/bridge fight: Deadpool An overpowered Quicksilver plays "Time in a Bottle": Days of Future Past Blink and the future mutants fight sentinels: Days of Future Past Wolverine tears up home invaders: X2 Ryan Reynolds debuts Deadpool: Origins Magneto, Nazi hunter: X-Men First Class Angel vs. Nightcrawler: X-Men Apocalypse meeting each mutant on-screen for the first time: X-Men An overpowered Quicksilver rescues everybody: Apocalypse Kelsey Grammer as Beast, plus various small mutant cameos: X3 Brought down by a zillion ninja arrows: The Wolverine By this metric X2 and DOFP are at the top for me. Apocalypse was the most mutant power-heavy, X3 the second most heavy, but that doesn't mean they have the best individual scenes or story.

And they just had cool mutants like Angel and storm too, that weapon X scene was so dope, I don't care what anyone says, and more quicksilver. It does have a few problems, but not on the scale that other people say. Now we just need to have an X movie with Xorn in it.....

Today's list will be coming at you fast, just don't get furious when you see number 1.
Tokyo Drift Fast 5 Fast and Furious 6 Furious 7 Probably Fat8, it is still really good fun but kinda diminishing returns at this point. The Fast and the Furious 2 fast 2 furious Fast and Furious, the 4th one
Major takeaways: The rock is on steroids, han was the best character, everything needs more Kurt Russell

I dont just accurately rate series, I can do studios as well! Like Pixar.
Wall-E Up Ratatouille Toy Story 2 Toy Story Finding Nemo(as much as I loathe this movie it isnt because of quality, just the fact ive seen it 30+ times) Brave Monsters Inc Inside Out Cars The Incredibles A Bug's Life Toy Story 3 Cars 2
I still havent seen Good Dinosaur, Monsters University, or Finding Dory. Oh well. Their loss, my gain!

Also, Up is overrated because of the first 10 minutes.

And yep, for a series where each story is the exact same, I think Toy Story 2 pulled it off the best. And those first 10 minutes are better than the entirety of most pixar films.

The Wars that take place in the stars!
Return of the Jedi Empire Strikes Back A New Hope Revenge of the Sith The Force Awakens Rogue One (only because the last act is competent, I'd rather watch the next two again) Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones
Major Takeaways: Duel of fates is really really awesome, Palpatine fucking rules, Really should have adapted the Thrawn Trilogy, The Clone Wars TV series is the best piece of star wars media

It's really kind of a glorified pilot for the TV show more than it is a feature, but it gets name checked from time to time.

It is crazy to me that people think Phantom Menace is worse than Attack of the Clones. Did those people even see Attack of the Clones?? My God, it is bad. (I'll just ignore the insanity at the top of your list.)

I much prefer the score of phantom to attack though, and that lightsaber duel was pretty cool, and no padmae anakin romance.

The Definitive Star Wars Ranking List:
The Empire Strikes Back A New Hope Return of the Jedi/The Force Awakens Rogue One Revenge of the Sith The Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones
It'll be a cold day in hell before I acknowledge the 3D Clone Wars series as better than Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords.

And Return of the Jedi is easily the weakest of the OT, so saying that The Force Awakens is about as good as it isn't some grand compliment.

One should actually enjoy playing the game not just the story. It fails at what it is, a game. Return is the best and TFA is fun but not much else.

Nightcrawler: X-Men Apocalypse meeting each mutant on-screen for the first time: X-Men An overpowered Quicksilver rescues everybody: Apocalypse Kelsey Grammer as Beast, plus various small mutant cameos: X3 Brought down by a zillion ninja arrows: The Wolverine I'm doing some updating now that I've seen Logan, which also breaks the X-movie cycle of "never as good or memorable as individual scenes they contain": X-23 and Wolverine fight soldiers in the Mexico compound: Logan Nightcrawler attacks the president: X2 Wolverine's final berserker: Logan Opening credits/bridge fight: Deadpool An overpowered Quicksilver plays "Time in a Bottle": Days of Future Past Blink and the future mutants fight sentinels: Days of Future Past Wolverine tears up home invaders: X2 Ryan Reynolds debuts Deadpool: Origins Magneto, Nazi hunter: X-Men First Class Angel vs. Nightcrawler: X-Men Apocalypse meeting each mutant on-screen for the first time: X-Men An overpowered Quicksilver rescues everybody: Apocalypse Kelsey Grammer as Beast, plus various small mutant cameos: X3 Brought down by a zillion ninja arrows: The Wolverine As I review this list I note that of all the scenes listed, few actually feature a lot of greater-than-two team action. That's just a symptom of film-making, but it does highlight how strong the combat scenes in DOFP were.

Pretty much everything about that movie holds up on repeated viewings. Not only is it great Pixar, it's great superhero movie and it's sad that so much of the comic book movie explosion afterwards hasn't taken an lessons from it. The pace is great, it even moves well through the relatively 'slower' first act. They do a good job avoiding the front-loaded on character, back-loaded on 'splosions problem of most cape movies. Everyone is given interesting stuff to do in the action sequences. There is a properly set-up villain with stakes that are scaled in a way that makes sense. Boggles my mind that someone who would bother to power rank X-men movies doesn't appreciate it more.

I would easily rewatch all the other movies before incredibles.

If you insist on rating Pixar: Wall-E Toy Story Ratatouille Toy Story 3 The Incredibles Inside Out Finding Nemo Toy Story 2 Up Monsters Inc. Finding Dory A Bug's Life Cars Monsters University Brave Cars 2 The Good Dinosaur To be fair, as disappointing as The Good Dinosaur is, it's still a solid 3-star film. It would, at worst, be middle-of-the-pack at any other non-Disney animation studio.
