This is not even close to the point, of course, but... are Bert and Ernie "Disney-owned" ?? No, right? Like, if Disney owned Elmo, we would know, right? No, Disney owns the Muppet Show muppets (Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, etc), but not Sesame Street. Sesame Street is owned by nonprofit Sesame Workshop (formerly Children's Television Workshop). And currently licensed to HBO, which is a Warner arm. So they're extra not-Disney.

I just completed a Captcha that required me to pick pictures with motorcycles, and Captcha apparently includes a moped under that term.

I don't like the idea of replacing passwords with biometrics, fingerprints, and facial recognition. The latter require more hardware and giving away personal information. Passwords would work a lot better if institutions would get out of the 90s and allow people to use the "correcthorsebatterystaple" method.

Finally encountered a good captcha (asked me to identify motorcycles and let me through without making me click on a moped)

This just reminded me: I applied for a Lowe’s card online, and they wanted me to supply a scan of my drivers license, AND submit a short video to prove my identity. Um absolutely not, what the actual fuck. I called them to ask about it, they acted like it was a totally standard thing, I told them I would definitely not be doing that, as I campn just go to the physical store and get approved on the spot withOUT doing that. They put me on hold, & came back to tell me sure that’s fine you don’t have to, your card is on its way. what the hell.

Wow! That is bonkers. Do people just do that without batting an eye? Wow.

So ... the AV Club shut down comments? Yeah, we've been discussing this on The Old Country's Biggest Blunders thread. Crazy.

I can't believe my neighbor is using a leaf blower at 7:15 am. In April no less, when there's not even the excuse of leaves or snow on the ground or it being too hot later in the day.

Obviously he was listening when I said something about it later that day, because today (Sunday) he began at precisely 8 am. He was up 5am, gently oiling the barrel of his leaf blower staring at the 3 leaves that blew onto his lawn over night. He sits. Silent. Watching. Waiting. In the distance we hear the ticking of a grandfather clock.
