Test 12: Hiroshi Yoshimura - Green
1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): all 45 minutes, though I kind of zoned out the last half 2. What was the best part? The first track "Creek" is wonderfully tappy and soooothing. I also like the hint of a melody in "Feel" 3. How relaxing is it? Quite. I also like the double ee's of all the track titles: Creek, Feel, Sheep, Sleep, Green, Feet, Street, Teevee. I'm thinking eight mountain streeeeams ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Test 13: Hiroshi Yoshimura - AใปIใปR (Air In Resort) 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): it was only 36 minutes 2. What was the best part? ๅฐๅทใซใใฃใฆ (Ogawa Ni Sotte - follow the brook), ใใใใๆตท (Kirameku Umi - glistening sea), and ็ ใฎๆ (Suna No Hoshi - sand star?) 3. How relaxing is it? Apparently this was commissioned by Shiseido, the Japanese skincare/cosmetics company and it does seem ideal for a regimen of self-care. I give it eight soaks in the tub

ETA but seriously, I have fond memories of this Georgia Public Broadcasting selection on the bottom. Highly recommended for your nature viewing, moimoi. I didn't know until the search that there was a studio version of the song.

Test 14: Podington Bear - Uplifting 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): The first album I tried was Egress, but I only got through about 2 songs because it was too cacophonous. All of these tracks were short, so I listened to the whole thing. 2. What was the best part? "Colocate" was charming background music for a commercial about smart home technology. "Lode Runner" has some nice synth horns. 3. How relaxing is it? I think there is something about digital production that makes this sound harsh and insistent. It's rather like video game music that is meant to keep you focused and alert instead of relax you. Four joysticks ๐น๐น๐น๐น
Test 15: Chad Crouch (aka Podington Bear) - Water Birds: Electric Piano Preludes 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): the whole thing clocks in around 22 minutes 2. What was the best part? "American Coot" is a great title for a languorous tune. "Common Merganser" has indie pop charm. "Northern Pintail" would sound great playing from a mobile over a baby's crib. "Wilson's Snipe" is a crisp, palette-cleansing closer. 3. How relaxing is it? Now this is the stuff - slight melodies, not too percussive, lots of reverb. I give it seven ducklings since it's so short

Test 14: 18 Carat Affair - Vintage Romance 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): all 22 minutes of hypnogogic goodness 2. What was the best part? "Bitter Turns to Sugar" samples lyrics from perhaps my all-time favorite song of all time "My Everchanging Moods" and "Phil Spector Daydream" has a nice gentle buzz. 3. How relaxing is it? I don't know if was particularly relaxing, but it made for nice background music.
Test 15: FM Skyline - Earthsim 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): 15 minutes before I got bored 2. What was the best part? I liked the washed out intros, but the tracks didn't quite live up to their potential. "Matrix Island" was alright. 3. How relaxing is it? For the most part, this sounded like smooth jazz - simple beats, Seinfeld bass, bad sax. Dullsville. Three keyboards ๐น๐น๐น

I don't know if it'll help, but I find these two tracks, leading into one another, to be the best in recent memory about alleviating my anxiety. With well wishes:

Test 16: Corey Fuller - Break 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): I listened to the first five tracks while knocking out emails late at night and the rest of it in the morning 2. What was the best part? right from the opening, I liked the randomness of tones throughout this. 3. How relaxing is it? Very - for both the beginning and end of the day. I give it nine saunas

Test 17: Robert Fripp: Music For Quiet Moments series 1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): I kind of floated in and out as I was doing stuff, but I did go through all 14 current tracks, skipping any track that I found painful to my ears (see below). I think the whole thing is around 2 hours and 15 minutes so far. 2. What was the best part? I'm glad all the tracks were long, so one could really drift out. For me, the best compositions were "GentleScape (Barcelona 24 Jul 2009)", "Time Stands Still (Pershore 16 jun 2006)", and "Requiem (Norwich 16 Jun 2006)". 3. How relaxing is it? I really didn't like some of the frequencies of sounds on tracks 1, 7, and 8. I had to skip half of 7 because it was bothering my head (update: due to lack of sleep I am now getting ocular migraines that look like flashing zigzag colors in my peripheral vision - in addition to the regular migraine I woke up with too early this morning). Since Fripp is into Zen, I'll give it five padmasanas

Test 18: Sangam - All Was Left...1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): All 37 minutes - it really flew by while I was crunching numbers 2. What was the best part? The first three tracks after the intro, "Wonder Why"...really the whole thing was pretty consistent. 3. How relaxing is it? This was some fine chillbient/ambient vaporwave off of Rosa Diaz's list.

Test 19: Patricia - An Ode to Plantasia: For Mort Garson and the People Who Love Him1. How long did I listen (in minutes/hours): all 26 minutes 2. What was the best part? All of it, but the first three pieces are especially good. 3. How relaxing is it? Thank you, algorithm, for sending me this loveliness. I really needed it. Since it's the end of the growing season, I'll give it nine fading roses

The good news is that after my dad's caregiver got sick with coronavirus last week, both my brother and I tested negative (which means my dad is probably negative too). The bad news is that to find out I was negative, I had to listen to a solid 20 minutes of this.

Ms. Goblin isn't exactly music-savvy. I don't mean that as a put-down, because it means she has no preconceived notions and she'll let me play pretty much anything that doesn't feature screaming or overly loud guitars. Anywah, she loves relaxing music and one of her favorite things I've given her is this 2010 mix from the electronic artist Baths. It's all his own productions and it was quite generous as a free online thing because it's better than any of his actual albums. www.last.fm/music/Baths/FACT+Mix+183 I don't know if you're still doing this series but just in case.

I love Baths (who also records as Geotic)! That's a fine suggestion for tomorrow, since work has gotten mighty stressful. Thanks!

Important discovery you probably already have known about: Most of FM3's Buddha Machine loops are available on Spotify
