Bob Mould Round the City SquareReal Estate All the Same [One of my all time favorite songs. One of those 7+ minute tracks where I feel like I hear or learn to appreciate something new every time I listen.] Cake Love You MadlyWax Fang World War II (Pt. 2) [Thanks for introducing me to Wax Fang, American Dad!] Nas Accident Murderer
Unrelated, but does anyone else think people who list songs by putting the title before the artist name are psychopaths?

OMG, I forgot it was Wednesday! I just did a quick shuffle and I think my ipod knew I was half-assing it and offered up a lame shuffle as a result:
Pelican [Forgot to check the song title; I'm really off my game today!) Metallic Taste of Blood "Sectile" OK, that one is awesome; my ipod did okay there. Depeche Mode "Goodbye" This is the second DM song in two weeks. It's making me look like I like I listen to them all the time, instead of just having one album I ripped from the library because I liked Dave Gahan's Soulsavers album. Cornershop "The Biro Pen" Abigail Washburn "Backstep Cindy/Purple Bamboo" WTF? I didn't realize I still had this banjo music on here!

You guys get the shuffle first - AVC gets sloppy seconds:
Kelly Bailey - 'Darkness At Noon' (Half Life 2 Episode 2 OST) The Future Sound Of London - 'The End Of The World' Editors - 'Nothing' (Acoustic version) Dresden Dolls - 'The Perfect Fit' Graham Reynolds - 'Do You Like Cats?" (A Scanner Darkly OST)
(And I swear I didn't deliberately force such a doomy list just because of the AVC Fail...)

Oh, no, I really dislike someone's here! Anyway, for people at work, you all should put links or 5-word descriptions for ones people wouldn't know. Otherwise, I maybe pick 1 of them. This 1's my favorite so far. Tubelord - Stacey's Left Arm Down - The Path The Body - The Ebb and Flow of Tides in a Sea of Ash Rival Schools - Choose Your Adventure Pulled Apart By Horses - High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive Then Metallica's Fight Fire With Fire came on and I promptly turned the shuffle function off. Mike Patton - "A Little Poker Tomorrow Night?" Tomahawk - "Narcosis" Danny Baranowsky (Super Meat Boy Soundtrack) - "Chapter 5 Menus" Mark Lanegan - "Belle Black Ocean" Mark Lanegan - "One Hundred Days" (Live at Leeds) So... mini artist blocks, both of a mood, with a "one of these things is not like the other" amuse bouche in between. (For the record, "Belle Black Ocean" is one of my very favorite songs, so this was a delightful shuffle for that reason alone.) Interesting. Mark Lanegan has a wonderful sensibility, of course. How did you end up with the Super Meat Boy soundtrack? Do you own a lot of them, or did you just like that (pretty hardcore) game? I say that as someone who runs a "soundtrack of the year" topic. Medicine/Farmacos: Ly-We Need Air/Ly-Nos Falta El Aire www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruc7O6pY9ws ( Phoenix by way of Chile) Kulakostas: Be Your Lover how2make-rec.bandcamp.com/track/be-your-lover (a fan of Mujuice, Russia's most famous indie musicians/1 of my 5 active favorites, doing Chvrches doing Mujuice.) Recondite: The Fade www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rnDzSUNbU0 ( tech-house about the natural world) Gem Club: Polly www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABGM_ztExII (full Kate Bush on these arrangements) Tricot: 99.974 Degrees Celsius www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zez30Rj82g ( pop math rock can be a thing if you're talented enough)

I was going to say that I'm not a soundtrack person specifically, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that I kind of just view soundtracks as being like albums. If I notice liking one in a movie or game, I'll buy it, same if an artist I like is involved in creating one (like one the first track in today's shuffle is from). How can a person play Super Meat Boy and not want the soundtrack on their ipod, to be the background music to their own pretty hardcore lives?

Well, it's not "The Living Daylights" (especially with that badass sax coda). Still, great song (and great video).

How did you end up with the Super Meat Boy soundtrack? Do you own a lot of them, or did you just like that (pretty hardcore) game? I say that as someone who runs a "soundtrack of the year" topic. I was going to say that I'm not a soundtrack person specifically, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that I kind of just view soundtracks as being like albums. How can a person play Super Meat Boy and not want the soundtrack on their ipod, to be the background music to their own pretty hardcore lives? Oh, awesome, that totally makes sense. I view them as more of a prompt, I guess, but I also don't distinguish them as a lower form than "regular" work. Yellow Magic Orchestra's Ryuichi Sakamoto did a wonderful job with L.O.L.: Lack Of Love (Lovedelic being 1 of my hobby horses). Johann Johannsson might as well be soundtrack-1st these days, and if this is as good as anything you'll hear www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_Rfkhg7s_M (what a build!). M83 made up for Oblivion with the 1 he did for his brother. And, you're right, that was an imbecilic question from an obvious non-hardcore person! It's like asking how someone could come away from The Neverhood/Skullmonkeys without falling in love with Terry S. Taylor's nonsense songs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WreJGBEF5iA www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPKrIMtc3Jo (The man needs to do a Muppets soundtrack.) It's required, essentially.
