It is a shame the best baseball player has been wasted on the angels. And now he's out for several months weeks. (Sorry, I mistyped that.) 2017 just gets worse and worse. That brawl today between the Nats and Giants was both hilarious and awful. Why is Strickland throwing at Harper? For the HRs 3 seasons ago?? What?? Also, Bryce Harper's hair in that fight is amazing. A+ |

Watching Bryce was like watching a computer seize up... "THROW HELMET... ERROR... NOT THROW HELMET... ABORT... BEGIN SWING VIOLENTLY... HARPER USED FLAIL... Kangaroosevelt-Ecks Dbacks 34-22, Rockies 34-22. Tied for 2nd best record in the NL. June 1st, and all is still going according to plan! Suck it, Giants! Still .5 game ahead of the Dodgers, even! Wow, now looking good that Rockies and/or DBacks will make the playoffs. They may end up playing each other in the play-in game! That would be crazy!

Still 34-22 is not too shabby for June 1st! Dbacks August and September schedule looks brutal, so I am still predicting them around 80-85 wins. But, before the season started I was predicting 75-80 wins, so I'm bumping them up a bit based on performance so far. Just gotta win as many games as they can now, because their schedule does not get easier as it goes. |

Commissioner Manfred was at last night's Dbacks game. Talked about parity, development, replay and pace of play.
Really glad he wasn't at tonight's DBacks game, which ran a brutal 3 hrs and 50 minutes to play 8.5 innings. I cannot imagine what insane rule changes he'd propose seeing 3:50 for 8.5 innings.

"Do they really need to run the bases for a home run? They should just go sit back down!"
Seriously, Dbacks and Padres, try to speed it up a bit tomorrow, eh? You're not the Red Sox and Yankees, damn it.

I was hoping LSU would've made it more of a series and they almost did cept for the really bad slide which just sucked all the momentum from them. Also ugh Florida but I guess I'm ok with a team winning their first. I've always liked lsu though cause man their fans love college baseball. Omaha is basically a 2nd Baton Rouge, especially when they're in it. I will say I wasn't as invested in the CWS this year since my gamecocks stunk this year but I did enjoy the bits I was able to watch. Def saw more homeruns in td park than it used to get, several of which were monsters(!), which was fun. Thats a tough park to homer in. |

I was down in Costa Rica, completely off the wi-fi grid so I missed all that. But I did get a hilarious Costa Rica hat which blatantly stole the CR logo and flipped it to Costa Rica's colors. I'll have to post that here sometime. Also, here's Joe Buck recounting a night in Cabo with tequila and pot brownies and man is he just the wussiest little creature or what? |

Yep, I was in Europe and also mostly without wifi.
Of course, when I got back the DBacks also started losing. It's like both teams WANT the Dodgers to win. It is sad.
Also, Joe Buck is awful. And that story does nothing to change my mind about that.

So Kangaroosevelt-Ecks, the plan seems to be falling apart. Rockies are getting blown out, Dbacks are loosing a bunch of games by 1-2 runs. Dodgers just keep winning. Something needs to be done! For the DBacks it is: 1. Get a decent outfielder. Come on! This has been the problem ever since Dave Stewart made that horrible trade with Atlanta and gave away Inciarte for PEANUTS!!!!! 2. Shake up the bullpen. Need something better for the 6th/7th inning |

Kershaw's out so maybe there's a chance that the Dodgers actually DO have a limit to their endless pitching depth. Perhaps we can catch them yet?
I look at the standings and am still baffled. Despite being this far behind Los Doyers, both the Rox and D-Backs would be leading three other divisions in baseball right now. Absolutely insane. And what would we get for that currently? A WC play-in game.

A WC play-in game. It suuuuuuuucks. I hate you, Dodgers. Yeesh, DBacks had a mediocre couple of weeks and suddenly they're 12 games back. WTF, how did that happen? Ugh. Also, Dbacks at least accomplished task #1 I laid out. They went out and got an OF. Wow, gotta keep reminding myself that JD Martinez is just a rental. Woo hoo, he has been fun to have. 5 hits since coming over, but 4 of them were HRs. Hit a Grand Slam today against the Cardinals. DBacks won the game 4-0. Thanks, JD! At least 2/4 of those have featured the opposing team walking Goldschmidt right in front of Martinez, and then he hits a HR. That is immensely fun. Teams can just go right ahead and keep walking Goldy in front of Martinez. Will laugh my ass off watching Martinez hit HRs after Goldy walks. Gotta keep repeating: He's a rental. He's a rental. He's a rental...... Can't let myself get too excited. Still wish the DBacks had picked up some bullpen help. I'm very worried about that. |
