Hilarious. Even the comments section has a lot of gold. Such as His wife operates an inter-species erotica site called "One Horse/Open Slay"

Oh, Matt Williams. You needed ONE more out for that win. Zimmermann is your best pitcher. You couldn't let him try to get one more out?

Most playoff baseball games I get anxious about every single pitch. How it can be the one that changes the game. This one? Not so much, weirdly.

Today's games are not making me happy.

But I'm glad he made it. I watched or listened to that whole damn game. I don't even know what to say. That was insane.

Welp, seems like whoever I want in the WS is losing. At this point I just want KC vs not the cards(sorry KC, Giants, Dodgers, and Nats fans).

Seeing as how my team was out of contention back in July, I guess I'll be pro-Orioles via retro hometown nostalgia (Buck Showalter used to be the manager for the Albany-Colonie Yankees back in the day). This tremendously stylish card is possibly still in a box of baseball cards at my parent's house that also includes a signed Derek Jetter Albany-Colonie Yankees card, and for that reason alone I hope his current team succeeds against all comers. Barring an Orioles victory I guess I want Kansas City to win via underdog success story. I will be livid if the Cardinals or the Nationals end up winning.

Kansas City swept its way to the ALCS. Billy Butler stole a base. Is this real life?

While I don't really pay attention to baseball, this weekend I learned what Clayton Kershaw looks like. I guess he's a really good ball-throwing-guy most of the time but that beard is disgusting. It probably makes Amish dudes wince.

Kershaw is the first pitcher to give up 7 runs in back to back playoff starts. Haha.
And yeah, watching Butler score from 1st and steal a base is the highlight of the playoffs so far. I'm really happy for KC obviously but also a little jealous, we broke our long miserable streak a year earlier but have less to show for it.

If you're Eric Hosmer, how do you follow up a .500 batting, two home run series? You invite all the fans to come celebrate with the team at a local bar, and pay the tab for the entire evening. Check came to over $20,000. Loving this Kansas City team.

So Yadier will only be fined for pushing an ump. This is still the MLB right?

A lot of people in Arizona will be rooting for the Orioles due to the Buck Showalter factor, too. People have a lot of respect for what he did building up the Diamondbacks.
I am usually strongly anti-AL since I believe the DH is an abomination. However, I loathe the Dodgers and Giants, and am mostly sick of the Cardinals. The Nationals are the only NL representative I tolerate. Meanwhile, I kind of like both the Royals and Orioles. So, this may be the first time I will ever root for the AL team.
Though, it'd be nice if the Nationals could rebound and make it more interesting for me.

So, do we think Kershaw on short rest will be regular season Kershaw, or strangely abysmal post-season Kershaw?

BRING IT ON, CARDINALS. OUR CATCHER IS MUCH MORE HANDSOME THAN YOURS.

I hate that I have to root for an AL team this year. I don't even know how to feel positive about a team using the DH, but I am sure as hell not rooting for the Cardinals or Giants to win the World Series.

I hate the Orioles and the Cardinals are the second worst team in professional sports, just behind the Raiders.
I've never had an easier decision to make in my while life.

I hated the Cardinals way before it was cool to do so. Go Giants. Are we talking White Rat era Cards or even further back? (not really that) Cool Story, Bro time - In the Old Country Kenny Herzog had some article about Werner Herzog, where he mentioned that growing up in the 80's in the Midwest people always asked him if he was related to Whitey Herzog. I made a post that was a side by side comparison of the two W. Herzogs (Whitey's teams emphasized stealing bases, Werner made his first film with AV equipment he stole from his school; Darrell Porter was to Whitey what Klaus Kinski was to Werner; etc.). It got me my first staff reply.

I'm just happy Kershaw's weak playoff performance means he's not "clutch" (which is a statistically meaningless value anyway), thus leading to slightly less blather about how he's the greatest pitcher of the decade.

Apparently Buck was asked about never winning a post-season series before and he pointed out that it wasn't true since he did win a championship with the Albany-Colonie Yankees. The other Capital District tie in to this year's post-season is that Hunter Pence might be the most successful former Tri-City Valley Cat.

I had no idea that he'd ever played in Albany as my allegiance was to the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs during that single season in which Albany had two minor league teams and the following year I left the country and ceased following Capital District minor league baseball. I have been to ValleyCats games since then when visiting my ancestral homeland, but Hunter Pence was already gone by the time I saw my first game at "The Joe."
