I assisted a friend of mine as he built a run-in shelter for the livestock in our west pasture. We reused old barn tin for the siding, and it looks kind of cool. I screwed the roof tin (which was new) down to the rafters and didn't fall through the roof even once.

I bought a turkey for my chest freezer for 59¢/lb. Yeah, when they have bird flu, they really discount them down.

Traffic on my way home was extra bad, but I shaved 15 minutes or so off my time by improvising a route so that I approximated my usual commute time.

I parked at an expired meter right in front of the county courthouse for over 20 minutes and didn't get a ticket.

Last Friday at work we got told to wear "Crazy Christmas Costumes," so I said fuck that and wore a suit. Power move. Everyone else was wearing Buddy The Elf costumes and Christmas lights wrapped around themselves, and it made me look even more grown-up.

We started doing trivia last year at a local brewery with some of the people we knew from Crossfit. Last year, if we were the only ones who showed up, we would merge our team with some of the other people we had met at trivia (there are a number of regulars). Starting last week, we decided to play as a team on our own. Last week we finished second, and this week, we brought another friend, and finished first (and also won what they call the baffler, which meant one round was free). Since Mrs. Rumak does not actually drink beer (although she did have a snack this week), and I generally drink two each time we go (and our friend drank three, but only because after we won, I told him he should have another), we are now earning beer faster than we are drinking it.

I submitted an assignment in grad school more than 30 minutes before it was due!

I submitted an assignment in grad school more than 30 minutes before it was due! Well, that professor will be upping your workload.

Got my new laptop set up, along with Windows 10, without wanting to defenestrate it.

I started our tax returns already. Even though I don't have all the various forms yet.

The stereo system in the car stopped working for some reason, and I needed to input a security code. So I called the dealership (itself a minor accomplishment), got the code, pressed all the buttons in the correct sequence, and made the stereo work again.

Last weekend I finished working on the brakes on our car, and did some plumbing, and today I got my computer working again in regular mode (not just safe mode).

I discovered that the door to my neighboring office, the one with the insanely loud phone ringer, was left unlocked. The office occupant is rarely there but gets phone calls frequently, so I snuck in and turned down the volume setting.

Trimmed my hair last night, without making a mess of the back.
I should have a bob by the time my birthday rolls around next month! I can't wait.

Actually came to work today instead of using one of my vacation days to say "fuck off snow." This makes me feel proud but not especially good.

Woke up late, still made it to work on time. Only 2/18 stoplights were red. I've never encountered so many green lights on this route.

Got in the shower and found the previous day's washcloth (green) still hanging on the inner rod (where the pink one is). Grabbed it and meant to toss it on the floor, but instead flung it on the outer rod. Prolly couldn't do that again if I tried. (Well, I prolly could, but it might take a while.)

Called my old doc in WV and asked her to prescribe another round of zoloft to be filled up here in PA, because I can't get in to see a new doc for a few weeks, and I did it before I ran out (I have one pill left shut up I'm getting more tomorrow I'm not crazy, you're crazy).
