I finally finished it earlier this week. I feel like I'll have to rewatch it soon, I miss the characters all ready. Good thing my roommate's haven't watch anything beyond the first episode. The show's general reverence for genre films is something else that strikes a chord with me, along with how it's able to attain the same sort of highs as the very films and genres it references. Your emotional attachment to and knowledge of the characters makes the action scenes so much more thrilling. Nomi's escape from the police was so great. Will and Sun coming to help her, followed by the "I can't drive!" moment, which put such a stupid grin on my face. Not only do you very badly want for her to escape, but there's this catharsis gained from having her friends come help her. This show nails so much of what I love.

I shouldn't have started this until I knew whether it was getting renewed or not. I just finished last night and now I'm a nervous wreck that the show won't get picked up. I can't handle the thought of that, especially since the show really found it's groove toward the end. I can't wait for my roommate to get back from London so I can steal her for a weekend and force her to watch with me, so I have an excuse to rewatch it. This cast is amazing and I don't know what to do without them in my life.

Finally finished up season one, and I don't have much to add other than that this show is a goddamn treasure and I hope it gets another season.

Just finished it today as well. Really, REALLY love this show! YES. I think I'm gonna write spoiler filled episodic reviews because I can't stop thinking about this show and need to write about it. I keep thinking about how the show comments on the narcism of loving within a cluster and how Riley and Will's early scenes were seeing each other in reflections. This show was loud, but there's so much subtlety in every little detail.

Wikipedia pointed out that the day they announced the renewal is the same day that is the birthday of all the characters.
...that can't be a coincidence; surely.

I finally watched the Christmas episode and it was a bit meandering and structurally unsound, but damn, it was sweet. Some scenes were so beautiful, but some were really off (Kala/Wolfgang one played for comic relief). At the scene with Will being the little spoon and Riley the big one I was awwwing all over the place. Those two are so cute is too much. I like the new Capheus too. I missed these guys.
Ah, this show is too pure for this world.

Chiming in super late to "same" basically every post here.
The next season is going to feel like paradise amidst the madness of our world, but it might hurt a lot for the same reasons.

They recast VanDamme, right? How is his replacement? (And I saw conflicting reasons for why he left, was there any confirmed reason?)

They recast VanDamme, right? How is his replacement? (And I saw conflicting reasons for why he left, was there any confirmed reason?) Difficulties between him and Lana Wachowski. Precise nature was never confirmed, although there was a rumour he was uncomfortable with the sex stuff or transphobic. I like his replacement Onmuwere, but he's a more mellow performer, he lacks Ameen's boyish charm.

I'm only on episode 4, but I dislike Wolfgang's storyline. Can we retire the oversexualized Latin woman trope? It's stupid and dehumanizing. I love everything else though. Douay-Rheims-Challoner, Jamie Clayton herself tweeted that it wasn't a matter of transphobia. More likely it was the sex scenes.

I finished this and it was such a great season. They better renew or I'll never get over it. I would love more interactions between Kala (she is too precious, the Bring it on bitch scene was just aaaahhhh!) and Lito, also Wolfgang and Sun are the best together; they just have this special silent understanding. And my, this show is cheesy as hell, but it goddamn works. Amanita and Nomi might have just got me to tear up a bit. Wolfie and Kala too.

Finished the season. Still get all the sensate feels, but the plotting this season was wobbly as hell.
I know Lilly dropped out of production because of her transition, but these seems to be more strain than that going on. Almost feels like JMS, a man who knows how to make a season's arcs work together, is being sidelined...

Well, a big hearty FUCK YOU TOO, Netflix. So the Wachowskis can't write anything that's not 'clearly entheogen-induced earnestness'. Big fucking deal. That show had one of the most empathetic, open-heart approaches I've ever seen.
Meanwhile, House of Cards and the other shit gets to stay.
Yeah, it was expensive as fuck. Doesn't mean that I'm not going to be pissed.

The fact that House of Cards will probably live forever while Sense8 gets cancelled makes me hate Netflix.

I hate that they cancelled Sense8, but understand their reasons. Bringing it back to tie up the storylines is menschy of them.
