Lord Lucan Super-late to this but the black square both serves as a sort of giant punctuation mark but also a sort of open door, inviting one to step through and fill that void with something new. I think Malevich’s hope was was the big changes in the revolution would lead to a broader change in how we saw and shaped the world around us. That didn’t happen, but in a narrow sense I do think Malevich’s sculpture and teaching did influence socialist realist architecture:
