I always get Ravenclaw in these tests. It's not that surprising we're mostly getting Ravenclaw here, we're a bunch of nerds. Indeed - it's a little bit like the D&D alignment test we took. Lots of us clustered in true neutral, but more interestingly, most of us scoring high or highest in intelligence. *had a middling INT score, with DXT as my highest stat* *doesn't tell anyone*

I wasn't here when you all did that D&D one. I also know nothing about D&D. I took the quiz anyway, because I'm bored. Essentially as predicted by SongStarliner, I scored True Neutral. Which seems odd considering my answers on the "lawfulness" questions. Hey, I'm pro laws. I'm just also extremely anti corruption and anti BAD laws. These weren't inherent beliefs. I acquired this belief system after living 10 years in a city/county/state with an extremely corrupt, extremist government.

Ravenclaw, chumps. It's obviously the best house. You'd rather be with the jocks, the nobodies, or the assholes? Plus Hermione, the best character, is only in Gryffindor so Harry has someone intelligent and close at hand to keep him alive.

I took three different quizzes. Apparently, I'm straight up Hufflepuff. So that's the house for doinks and chronic masturbators?
It's a fair cop, then.

I said Hufflepuff, but then I took the quiz and got Gryffindor so I guess I'm stuck with being cool.

Just because I'm a tall white male who hangs out with jocks doesn't mean you can assume!

They would solve 90% of their problems if they just executed everyone who was sorted in Slytherin.

Another curious decision of the school's there: to dedicate an entire House to those of the children in its care who are evil. Surely a recipe for trouble.”

Also Ravenclaw. I'm surprised because I could never tell the difference between them and Hufflepuff. They were just those houses that Harry and Draco weren't in. Now that I've read the welcome letter, I do have to agree I probably belong there. I scored the least in Gryffindor so I guess I'm a giant wuss. Also I think Pottermore trended away from Ravenclaw because there were so many kids taking the quiz. Post-Lupin I actually read a fanfic where John Constantine was the DADA teacher. When he meets Harry Potter he mistakes the kid for Tim Hunter. He had a side job explaining Muggle stuff like bowling and record players to clueless wizards. I still remember his newpaper ad: "No questions asked, all questions answered". The fic had some interesting ideas, and like the majority of fics with interesting ideas it was never finished. I think I still have fanfiction.net set up to email me if it ever gets updated.

My house ranking went as this for the quiz
1. Ravenclaw 2. Gryffindor 3. Slytherin 4. Hufflepuff
So not the worst! one of the better characters is from Ravenclaw, Luna Lovegood. She never died unlike some other character from some other house that was super lame.

From Lupin's link: Gryfinndor 14 Ravenclaw 10 Slytherin 9 Hufflepuff 8
I'm impulsive and loyal, plus at the age of 11 would have been a smart jock type, which is always how I viewed Gryfinndor house. So that is totally the house I would have been sorted into.

Gryfinndor were so the uppity assholes who seemed cool but were really assholes. Slytherin is the goth kids, but the ones who weren't cool but assholes. Ravenclaw were the smart kids who were always reading books and never socializing, because they were assholes. Hufflepuff..... they were the weird kid who put ranch on his pizza, not an asshole, but still the worst.

Always assumed I'd get Ravenclaw, not b/c I think I'm particularly smart, but because I'm pretty lacking in motivation/passion, can be anti-social at times and am good at math.
But based on Lupin's link I got -
Gryfinndor 13 Hufflepuff 12 Slytherin 9 Ravenclaw 8
I'm guessing those rando river/forest questions played a role. Also my refusal to rat out my housemate must have been misinterpreted as loyalty rather than indifference.

Using this Pottermore Sorting Hat sim, Gryffindor - which I figured would be the one. (But honestly, I suspect there's a fifth, secret house: you go undercover in one of the other 4 as training. Kinda like playing Illuminati in Paranoia.) The fifth house is called "Shelter", because it's the house for the homeless.

Or: how many losers here think it's cool to say Ravenclaw, because they think it means they're smart? i remembered this thread after i got my results-- i never understood any references beyond the slither thing and the griffin thing, b/c antagonist/protagonist, but:

Pottermore gave me a Crow as a Patronus. So, I'm in Ravenclaw and my patronus is a Crow. Apparently there is something about my soul that screams "You're a bird!"

Screw it. I'm picking Slytherin, because those guys started out hated by the god that created them, their own author.
And considering that in the first book, it's noted that not a single evil wizard came from any house BUT Slytherin, yet they're somehow still allowed to exist, they must do something right. Screw Gryffindor.

If you think about it, the Sorting Hat is the real antagonist of the Harry Potter books.
