Pretend that, instead of rebooting, DC had decided to introduce Superman and the others into Nolan's Dark Knight universe.
How would you real-life-ify the Man of Steel?

I wouldn't.
I'm not really trying to be flippant, here. I just think that, while many superheroes lend themselves to this sort of approach, many others simply don't. You can do it, as, essentially, a thought experiment, but I think a "real-world approach" to Superman would rob him of a lot of what makes him fun and interesting and (especially) inspiring. One of the cardinal sins the Snyder movies committed was focus on this aspect of Superman, with the Congressional hearing and everything, and, in addition to being dull, it doesn't really add anything interesting to the character.
The further we have gotten from the Nolan movies, the less I like them. I was actually thinking about this this morning. One of the problems is that his version of Gotham City isn't really a recognizable one. It's too ordinary, and a little boring, and doesn't really seem to need a Batman. The crime rate is bad, of course, but the most idiotic thing is that what fixes the city is a law that get passed offscreen, and that's such a laughable solution to solving a high crime rate that it actually manages to be sillier than anything in the Snyder movies.

Batman Begins had a pretty recognizable Gotham, but yeah. TDK Gotham was literally just Chicago.
