I've only seen a chik-fil-a once in my life. They don't seem to exist anywhere in the US I visit regularly. Same, except I don't think I've ever seen one in person. They're like Popeyes, or ghosts, where I know on some level people have allegedly seen or interacted with them but I've never experienced physical evidence firsthand.

I've been functionally boycotting them the last few years, but every so often someone will bring them in to a work event or something, I'll try them, and that will remind me that they're really overrated anyway. Popeye's is much better, Bojangles is better, and our local chicken chain (Lindy's) is better. I never understood the hype over Chik-Fil-A even before the boycotts. I mean, obviously I now actively boycott the company - they don't want my icky gay money anyway - but I always thought they were mediocre at best. Their shakes weren't bad, though, I guess. To each their own. Yeah, the company is awful, but when that went down I saw a lot of Internet Liberals talking about how bad the sandwiches are anyway and could gauge how many were liars/vegetarians.

Popeye's is spreading through Canada now at least (slowly damnit, get here already) but in my limited experience having the two once in short succession Popeye's was a lot better.

Guy's...I have eaten multiple McGriddles for breakfasts. On purpose. McDonald's breakfast is always a last resort, but my McGriddles love is my secret shame. Have you ever tried ordering one with a poached egg instead of scrambled? They'll do it if you ask and it's A+++. Just ask for a dropped egg.

That's hilarious, because at that time I saw nothing but people bemoaning the fact that now they'd have to boycott it and it was gonna be so hard because of how delicious Chik-Fil-A's chicken sandwiches are and I was like "this is no sacrifice for me."

OK, I grew up eating Chik-fil-a, I really like(d) their sandwiches. I don't think they're the best EVER, but I like them. But I did give them up with relative ease when the company's awfulness came out.

There used to be a really good vegetarian cafe near my office. I would sometimes go there for smoothies or a salad. One day while standing in line for a theatre show right next to their former location the girl behind me in line was going on and on about how she missed it and how their deep fried tofu was so good and you couldn't even tell it wasn't chicken.
God I hate that sort of vegetarian/vegan. I'm sure the fried tofu was great, most of their food was but yes you could tell it wasn't chicken. Anyone with a brain could. Things can be good without you trying to pretend they're the same as meat.

I was stag for lunch, so I tried the KFC Nashville hot chicken. It wasn't anything special, really - just extra crispy with a spicy sauce on it. It was spicier than I expected, not punishing or anything, just not as weak as I expected it to be.
