moimoi I prefer a dress/skirt that swishes around my ankles so it's maxi for me, always. I am also fond of palazzo pants and wide legged pants in general, no matter how unfashionable they may be ... although I do believe the pendulum is swinging back in their favor. Not that I give a hoot about what's 'in', but it's nice to be able to find what I like in the shops.

You may be pleased to learn that upon your recommendation I got a dress from eShakti last year and was subsequently complimented on it. I think I shall buy another.

The IT guy here at work dresses quite nicely, especially for an IT guy, but for whatever reason he wears all his dress shirts tie-less but with the top button buttoned, and I tell you it makes me spiritually uneasy just to look at him. Nails on a chalkboard.

Nails on a chalkboard. That's totally a thing now that I cannot get behind. I've tried it, and while I guess it's okay on younger, skinny dudes, it looks super weird on my wide, middle-aged dude body. Like, it's just a lot of shirt not broken up by anything.

It's not okay on them either, unless they're 100% committed to dressing like David Byrne. It's a silly, affected look.

After looking at so, so many places for yellow flats and having very little luck (DSW had some but they were suede and my size wasn't in store, I would've had to order them anyway) I went with a $20 pair from Amazon. They may not last very long, but I really only want to wear them with the one dress, so I think it'll be OK. www.amazon.com/DREAM-PAIRS-Womens-Sole-Fina-Yellow/dp/B01MYXOHLL/

Important fashion question, I have a wedding tomorrow night and I'm not sure on shoes. Here's the what I'm wearing (buttoned all the way up to annoy Powerthirteen ) with a close up of the shoes: The shirt is a faded blue if it's hard to tell from the picture. I prefer the brown shoes and my wife likes the gray ones (both shown with no socks to annoy myself).

I super-hate the shitty, useless pocket on a t-shirt that sits right on my tit and is good for nothing.

I super-hate the shitty, useless pocket on a t-shirt that sits right on my tit and is good for nothing. I personally prefer a pocket on my t-shirts. It makes it a little clearer that Iβm not just wearing an undershirt; thereβs a little more structure to it.

I wear a dress shirt to work, and I keep my cell phone in the breast pocket, and I'm kind of at a loss on weekends when I just wear a T-shirt and where does my phone go? Do I roll it in my sleeve like a 50s greaser? Also, I totally thought that the IT guy that chalkdevil π was talking about only buttoned the top button of his dress shirt, and was temporarily amused to know the cholo look is still in, and impressed that an IT guy would rock said look, and then disappointed when I re-read the post.

Cool guys do this with denim jackets these days.

Shameless self-promotion: if any of you tall guys are interested in a cool suit for parties / going out on halloween dressed as Bertie Wooster / generally being interesting, I'm selling a plaid suit on eBay for $50. Details at www.ebay.com/itm/273376587731Also up: a whole bunch of plaid skinny ties I'm too big for. $6 each.

Reminds me of a unisex caftan Rudi Gernich designed in 1970:

no, YOU just spent almost $100 via the Target app on jeans, t-shirts and a cardigan.
(I am too lazy to go to the store. I want to try on skinny jeans in the privacy of my own bedroom and decide if I hate them or not. I may end up returning some of it.)

Iβve become a dark cotton t-shirt, light neutral pants and espadrilles guy during my quasi-absence from the T.I. Sorry.

The skinny jeans are mostly working for me though I don't want to wear them every day. And I did discover a small hole near a seam I'll have to patch pronto.
But I'm glad to be back in my fall wardrobe: dark jeans, bright t-shirt, lightweight cardigan, boots or shooties.
