Masks are kind of fun to accessorize with. I don't order clothes online - I have to see it on me and I'm concerned about carbon emissions so I won't order several sizes and return the ones that don't work, which might be all of the pieces anyway - but just having one new thing to consider when putting together outfits makes it feel like I have a new wardrobe.

eShakti update: the pants look fabulous, but the jumpsuit has confirmed a fact I should have accepted long ago:
I look like Tweedledee in jumpsuits. I shall have to return it.

I wonder whether the prospect of working-from-home for at least the next year is going to result in some serious sales on work heels - or like, non-casual clothing, period?

The super-cute Allbirds I got for Christmas to wear to work are just going to continue to sit in my closet, I wore them once on an unseasonably warm day in early March, guess they'll be there for next spring/summer. Rainbow Rosa I haven't done much clothes shopping this year, but seems like nearly every store/company is having big sales on everything - they're desperate to sell!

Rainbow Rosa I haven't done much clothes shopping this year, but seems like nearly every store/company is having big sales on everything - they're desperate to sell! I definitely hit up a couple of sales after the first stimulus check came. Though, I did buy more summer clothing than work clothing. I did buy several office-appropriate pieces, though. I think I've bought around 25 pieces of clothing, not a single one over $15. Everything marked down from $50-$150 originally.

I don't know if you guys will be able to see the link, but because I miss shopping and the stylist fee is waived, I've decided to try Nordstrom's Trunk Club. Basically, every 3 months they'll send me picks based on my preferences (I did specify sustainable brands, take their style quiz, and provide supplemental information such as my wardrobe pinterest board) and I have a month to either keep them or return them at my local Nordstrom store. You get to comment on their picks before they send out the box (half the items were things I already had or felt I didn't need), but I allowed the stylist to add 'wild cards' just to see what they'd pick. Here's my first box: www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710Items I approved: Madewell Roadtripper Skinny Jeans - I asked for one size up because I require comfort www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/191208033836/59a213daf5782b4bd60215acMadewell Leather Crisscross Skinny Belt - this was on my list of missing staple accessories www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/191208335664/5ada3845f5782be72300003a Eileen Fisher Crewneck Long Sleeve Knit Top - the brand always struck me as dowdy, but I do like the color and the ethics, so I'm willing to give it a try on sale www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/193481227049/5e62a285f5782bac63022e95 Girlfriend Collective High Waist 7/8 Leggings - always wanted to try this brand so I'm glad I'll be able to return easily if it's not worth the $ www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/439078657692/5bb6f9faf5782b7df6002b37 Zella Liana Long Sleeve Recycled Blend Performance T-Shirt - wondering if it will be worth the $ for such a basic style www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/439087024348/5c744c1ff5782b49ad00d9f7 Treasure & Bond V-Neck Long Sleeve Shift Minidress - I'm a sucker for dresses and it's on sale! www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/439104992056/5daee672f5782b9b9703c94b Items added by the stylist: UGG® McKay Water Resistant Bootie - NO I do not UGG www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/888855970316/57999d48f5782bfdb8000322 DAZE Money Maker High Waist Skinny Jeans - I'm willing to try, but skeptical www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/842662154772/5f1efb96f5782bc788007cdc Reformation Citron Button-Up Top - this brand is really hyped, so I'll try but very skeptical www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/439111882531/5f2b1571f5782bb302012805 Steve Madden Dede Studded Slide Sandal - not a fan of Steve Madden and I don't know where/when I would wear these www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/194068580007/5ee3d7b3f5782bdae7006cc4 Free People Be Free Tie Dye Tee - absolutely fucking not www.trunkclub.com/trunks/7486710/item/193465999221/5e0fe20df5782be519019982

I bought this purse on something of an impulse (in that I added it to my Amazon cart and then waited a week before I hit buy) and I really like it. I got it in green, which seems to be temporarily out of stock. www.amazon.com/BROMEN-Handbags-Designer-Shoulder-Crossbody/dp/B07T1QT2LPYes, it's a total knockoff, but it's $40 and looks great and feels nice and looks pretty well made. I do find the Chinese brands "take 5 or 6 random letters and make it a brand name" thing funny though.

I do find the Chinese brands "take 5 or 6 random letters and make it a brand name" thing funny though. I am currently in the process (because who knows when it will arrive) of buying a super-extra winter coat from a brand called DUOMI. I'm sending back the one from Svacuam.

OK that was quick! My trunk just arrived in a cute Sweet Pickles bus so I tried stuff on instead of doing work for a bit. So far, the major benefit I'm seeing to this whole style box concept is that you can try stuff on with the clothes you already own and thus compare if you really need something. The major drawback is the temptation to passively accept what you've been sent, even though you may not need it at the moment. The try-out didn't go quite as I expected, but I think I showed some restraint. Keep in mind that I'm trying to keep my entire wardrobe under 200 pieces, which is just about where I'm hovering now without counting underwear, outerwear, shoes, or accessories: Madewell Roadtripper Skinny Jeans - Keeping. These are higher quality than the Uniqlo black skinny jeans that are the staple of my Chicago winter wardrobe. I expect my current pair to go bust sometime this season, so it will be good to have a more sustainable backup. Madewell Leather Crisscross Skinny Belt - Keeping. I'm trying to put more effort into my outfits (when I start going outside again) so the first step is actually learning to accessorize. Eileen Fisher Crewneck Long Sleeve Knit Top - Returning. I love the royal blue color, but the top was shapeless and the fabric felt cheap. Girlfriend Collective High Waist 7/8 Leggings - Keeping. When I was pulling them on, I was alarmed by how tight the waist seemed, but once I got them on they were comfortable. I think these are supposed to work like Spanx, smoothing the midsection. Zella Liana Long Sleeve Recycled Blend Performance T-Shirt - Returning. I went back and forth on this one because it's super soft and warm. The problem is I have a bunch of layering tees already that I don't wear. Can't justify spending $50 on another one. Treasure & Bond V-Neck Long Sleeve Shift Minidress - Returning. Huge disappointment. The fabric was cheap and wrinkly and the print was underwhelming. This just looked like shit. UGG® McKay Water Resistant Bootie - Returning. I didn't even try these on because I haven never been and will never be an UGG girl. All my booties are black and I have four pairs already. DAZE Money Maker High Waist Skinny Jeans - Keeping. I may change my mind (which is OK because I can still return them after the 5 day grace period), but these were actually pretty flattering and comfortable. They also replace a pair of jeggings I got from Akira years ago and donated because I didn't want to be wearing jeggings anymore. Reformation Citron Button-Up Top - Returning. The quality is good, but the fabric was itchy and the pattern is just not me. Steve Madden Dede Studded Slide Sandal - Returning. I didn't even try these on because I don't need Steve Madden sandals for any reason. Free People Be Free Tie Dye Tee - Returning. As an Indian-American with an aversion to all things hippie, I would not be caught dead in tie-dye.

I've mentioned before my habit of being head to toe in Uniqlo (because they have my size!) and I recently placed an order since they had down puffer jackets my size in a very garish red on an amazing sale. It makes sense because no local here would probably A) be my size and B) get something that garish but I don't care. This jacket is really going to tie my wardrobe together because red coats work with basically every pants color I own (navy, beige, black, blue, olive khaki) and pretty much every shirt color but red. They also had oxford shirts on sale for roughly 10 bucks a piece so I bought a bunch of those as well for work and not-work. I'm about to be quite stylish this winter.

I bought more pants. What else is there to say? I am an undie fiend. At least these are inclusive, sustainable, and charitable: yourparade.com/ They even gave me a referral code for a free pair. I got the hip huggers in Maraschino, Cherrybomb, and Eightball (w/Crush trim). I also got a pair of the cheeky and brief styles to try out.

That first white top she highlights in this one is so ugly. Yikes. I also agree with her about ribbed fabric. And I can't believe people are still selling cold shoulder tops and dresses.

After watching all of 90s Melrose Place, I kinda need some 1950s era clothes that Sydney wore in season 3 and 4. Boden had some great pieces, but it is kind of hard to find some of the looks I want that aren't dry clean only
