The committee put the top four as Mississippi State, Oregon, Florida State and TCU. If that were the final four teams at the end of the year I think I's be okay. We have my team, plus three teams who haven't really contended for the national championship in a while. I think FSU vs Orgeon would be a good game, although not one that FSU would win.

Just got in front of a TV to see it blown in the red zone before the half. DAMMIT Mississippi State, get your shit together.

They played flat, couldn't capitalize on opportunities and had terrible clock management at the end. I think we've been waiting to see if they were going to stumble.

Uff. Two killer penalties in a row for Georgia's possession - holding to wipe out Gurley's 100-yard return, and a bullshit downfield lineman call to wipe out an amazing fake punt. Gonna be tough on the mental game.

Every week we start the game playing like morons and manage to win by the skin of our teeth. Just once, I'd like them to deliver an ass whooping. Is that so much to ask?

If anyone here watched the UGA-Auburn game, remember how Gurley went down pretty near the end of the game, was helped off the field, and walked into the locker room with 2 minutes left on the clock?
He tore his ACL.
What a season, nay, college career trajectory this guy has had. Impressive performances, rising star, sidelined by injury, major Heismann contender, 4-game suspension over autograph money, trumpeted return in blowout victory prior to obvious departure to NFL, ACL tear.
Truly, that opening 100-yard kickoff return that was called back by penalty is the perfect metaphor here.
Well, Andy Murray also tore his ACL in his last year, and he still landed a job warming the bench for the Chiefs. I wonder if this will end up bringing Gurley back for another year at UGA? He sure was slow as hell after coming back from injury last year. To be further mercenary about it (and that is appropriate; this is the NCAA) at least this will dominate the conversation and keep the limelight off Nick Chubb a while longer.

Welcome back Todd Gurley. After a four game suspension, he returns to the game he runs back a return 100 yards for a touchdown. It was called back, as these things sometimes are. In the last few minutes of the game he tears his ACL. Well thanks for playing Todd, see you next year. (which is a shame. When he's healthy and not suspended he's a dynamic player) Georgia had no problem with Auburn. 34-7.
TCU managed to hold on 34-30 against the Jayhawks, which is a game they should have dominated. Remember, Baylor beat TCU, and yet they've been consistantly ranked lower than TCU. Arizona State fell to Oregon State 35-27. (Oregon was idle)
As an FSU fan, I don't know how much more I can take. Last year we rolled over everyone. This year we're fighting tooth and nail. I don't know if we work best under pressure or everyone else doesn't have the stamina to hang with us or what. Say what you want about Winston off the field, but the man knows how to win games. And look, we figured out how to run the ball. And now we're ranked #1 in the AP poll again. (Topic: The AP poll has been rendered meaningless by the Bowl Committee. Discus.) Coming back to beat Miami: loving it. 30-26.
On November 16th, Will Muschamp was asked to leave his position has head coach of the Florida Gators after the season. The request came from the University of Florida. I hope he moves in with Brady Hoke.
In Wisconsin's 59-24 defeat of Nebraska, Melvin Gordon ran for 408 yards. Seriously. Damn.
And hey, Penn State is bowl eligible! Excellent!
In the big game of the week Alabama defeated Mississippi State 25-20. That score is a lot closer than what the game actually was because Mississippi State was never in control of this game. Early on Alabama's defense earned a safety and that really set the tone for the rest of the game.
So my four: FSU, Alabama, Oregon and TCU
Next week: Well, there aren't any real big matchups to speak of. FSU plays Boston College, who beat Oregon ealrier this year, so that might be another ridiculous come from behind win. USC plays UCLA, which could be fun. It's the week after that contains all the big rivalry games

The entire SEC schedule today was ridiculous.
LOL at Notre Dame.
FSU had better not be ranked #1.

Well I don't have much to write about this week. The games played this week were less than stellar. There's been some criticism that the SEC schedules cup cake teams during this next to last week, and I have to agree. People call the SEC the "toughest conference" and ESPN (who owns the SEC Network) really play this narrative. But how do we really know? The SEC plays itself, like all conferences do, but who do they play outside their conference? Auburn played Kansas State and Florida plays Florida State. Other than that, they don't really play anyone outside their conference who presents any challenge. Where's the game against a Big Ten team or a Pac Ten team? If they are the toughest conference, they why are they afraid to schedule outside of it? Say what you want about Florida State's schedule, but their non conference teams are Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and Florida.
Speaking of Florida State, another close win. 20-17 over Boston College. We never really trailed, but we never had a commanding lead either and Boston College played us tough. It seamed to be that they were keeping the ball on the ground and limiting Winston's movement to protect his ankle. FSU's defense had a hard time stopping BC's run
Speaking of running, remember that single game rushing record of 408 yards that was set last week by Melvin Gordon? Broken. 427 yards by Samaje Perine during Oklahoma's defeat of Kansas
UCLA defeated USC 38 20 to become Kings of LA. Kansas State beat West Virginia 26-20. Minnesota beat Nebraska 38-24. Arkansas shut out Ole Miss 30-0.
My four haven't changed: Florida State, Alabama, Oregon, TCU. The Committee likes Mississippi State over TCU.
So next week should be some fun: Florida State/ Florida, Auburn/Alabama, Ole Miss/Mississippi State, Texas/TCU, Georgia/Georgia Tech, Ohio State/Michigan, USC/Notre Dame, South Carolina/Clemson, Michigan State/Penn State, LSU/Texas A&M, Nebraska/Iowa, Arkansas/Missouri, Arizona/Arizona State, Stanford/UCLA, Kentucky/Louisville, Purdue/Indiana, North Carolina/ North Carolina State, Minnesota/Wisconsin, and Oregon/Oregon State to name a few. Some of these have playoff or conference implications, but some of them are just for bragging rights.
This season has went by so fast, but at least it's been fun to watch each week.

I posted that after the Florida State game and you're the only Florida State fan I "know". Every week I think there's no way the 'Noles will escape at the last second again, and yet they do.

So what are we thinking? Ohio State #4? I'd think it has to be TCU, based on previous ranking and convincingness of win. If OSU, TCU and Baylor all win next week, it makes it for a pretty contentious debate about #4 (especially given Baylor's edge head-to-head vs TCU).
