Sorry to jump into this thread with a silly joke and nothing else, but much has been said already. This is so weird and twisted and sad and perplexing. And, as others have said, how did they have so much free time? When I first started getting into the comments section and learning who E Buzz Miller was, I barely had time to read the AVC, let alone post on it regularly in multiple personas. I, too, think the saddest aspect of this is that Miss Anthropy's real death got sickly, cruelly parodied by this stupid hoax. I forget which happened first, so maybe I'm wrong, but I wonder if he decided to off 'Buzz' after hearing about Miss Anthropy.

But apart from on here, the only place I recall the news being broken was on SL. I'm sure it was brought up in on the regular TI and Avocado as well, though.

Murray knows I exist because he mailed me cigarettes. Or...he mailed SOMEONE cigarettes. Which were delicious. Maybe Baron von Costume and I should meet up and confirm each other's existence, since we both live in the "godless frozen hellscape that is Winnipeg" (Munster, 2017). But the wolves would eat me! ...also who would claim to be from Winnipeg? I'll chime in with the others and say I feel sorry for those of you who were strongly affected. This is just all kinds of shitty.

Philosophically speaking, it was Descartes who declared "I think, therefore I am " as proof of ones own existence - if you are aware enough to ask the question then you already have an answer. However he was a 17th century philosopher and didn't have access to modern technology, so clearly would have been unaware of the Grindr Proof Of Existence, a philosophical stance predicated on the idea that you existence can be proven and confirmed by the number of unsolicited dick pics you get sent. I can confirm that Tea Rex is the adorable little dinosaur that you all already believe her to be. And Tellyfier is actually Telly Savalas, in one of the oddest witness relocation programs ever undertaken by the FBI.

You know, looking through the evidence doc again, my social network isn't nearly this well developed, and I'm REAL. People have been doing digging, and, for example, a video to Harriet exists: As does a Goodreads account, which is related to a Dom King account that had been updated in January of this year. I'm also of the (obviously unproven and unsourced) opinion that Dom based the name 'Harriet Peters' on a particularly well known Brit - Harry Potter.

But it's also a haunted selfie, so I don't know whether people will count that as genuine or just an expression of the supernatural.

I know me saying "this is so weird" isn't adding much, but to not only have created AVC accounts, Twitter profiles, and the like but to also go and create Goodreads accounts, with different books read for each persona...it's mind boggling.

It's no worse than some of the photoshopping on the pics of the happy couple.

I read the Google doc on Friday night. What a jilted thrill! Oh well, just wanted to offer simple text reference that I too am a real person who has been to a TIF meet-up in Seattle ca. April 2014. I have more than a few real life pics on this site.

I can't honestly say that I ever thought E Buzz was fake, but I will say that something about him always just struck me as "off", in a some way I couldn't put my finger on, and mostly I avoided interacting with him because of that. (Although I do recall wondering why he wore the same polka-dotted shirt in almost every picture he posted.) (I did wonder if OperaPunk was fake on more than one occasion; the relationship never quite rang true to me).
But this is batshit, y'all. Bat. Shit. Does anyone know if Scrawler's been told? I remember them being close for a while there.
Also I was gonna assure youse guys that I'm real, but I haven't checked today to make sure that I am.

I'm catching up on all of this craziness. I never had much interaction with either of them. I do, however, happen to be a real cyborg named Mindy. My identity can be verified by Harvey Dent and Molly Grue, both AVC posters that also post at the Avocado. We met back in November and saw Book of Mormon together.

Now I'm going through the comments on the AVC obit, and [record swipey sound] ayatollahcm: "E. Buzz had been around long enough that enough folks (esp. on the East Coast) knew him and his wife IRL. In fact, to my understanding, our friend Sat was one of the first to know, was one of the first to visit and comfort Opera_Punk, and, at a meet-up in the New York/Connecticut area this last weekend, used it as an opportunity to toast his memory." ?

I may have misinterpreted what Sat had told me when it occurred....she may have only texted OperaPunk, so it could be a case of me just getting the facts wrong. But, to my recollection, a meet-up actually did occur (although, of course, "OperaPunk" and EBM were not present).
