It's time for a saga. I've decided to do something different this time around and instead of reviewing a particular artist I've decided to review an entire decade, more specifically the 1980s, even more specifically the best albums of the 80s as selected by Pitchfork. Why did I pick the 80s? Well, I was alive for the bulk of the decade, but a child so I missed out on a lot of stuff. I could have gone with the 60s or the 70s but felt that I'm probably a bit better versed in via osmosis from my parents. That being said, the 80s are also a decade that includes a lot of bands and albums that I do know about and like, which will be a bit of a change of pace for me and these reviews.
I'll probably get started with the reviews this week, but there's a bit of a problem. This list? She's a monster! I'm not sure if I want to attempt to review 100 albums or if I just want to start towards the top and do the top 20 or 30 albums. Here's the list in question. Let me know what you think in the next day or two so I can get this show on the road. I've had enough of a sabbatical and I'm ready to get reviewing!
