Of all the threads I was associated with, maybe none brought me such joy as the entire comment section for my F-score review of Chevy Stevens' truly awful novel Still Missing. It was the first time AVC had ever given an F to a book. Behold!

sarapen Those definitely cast Phippsâs repeated âdonât call us The Onion A.V. Clubâ assertions in a new light. The Spice Weasel Luckily I saved Frakes/Sirtis/Interview with Rick Berman back when the the switch to nuDisqus was pending. Iâve done the same with IdiAminâwill probably check out Victorian Spambot/Elegant Victorian Lady as well, when I have time.

Even after Iâd stopped frequently commenting Dirtbike Milksteaksâs comments kept me frequently reading for a long time

It was the first time AVC had ever given an F to a book. Behold!Speaking of book reviews, there's this one for the latest Nicole Krauss book, and almost the entire comment section is people giddily waiting for the Nicole Krauss gimmick account to show up and review herself. I also believe that was the last comment that account ever made, fittingly.

Does anyone have a method for saving some of these? I started saving some Trek review threads by selecting the comments, going to âprint selection onlyâ and saving the comments as a pdf, but that doesnât seem to work for me anymore. If you go to the user's profile, you can just save all of their comments at once. This works best for dedicated gimmick accounts. Regarding Star Trek, I created a file that contains all of the posts from Rappin' Jake Sisko, Frakes, Sirtis, and Interview with Rick Berman. Edit: I also grabbed Garak. Though he only had a few posts, a handful of them were gems. I can always chuck this up on Mega if anyone really wants it. OMG. Thank you, I came here to ask specifically if this had been done.

I think I'm gonna spend part of my last night browsing the old Enlisted reviews. Did any of you watch that one-season wonder? If so, everyone, hands on heads!

The disqus threads are still sort of accessible, I think, provided you can find them (note: you probably can't find them).

Near impossible, since Disqus the site doesn't really seem to have a search function?

Near impossible, since Disqus the site doesn't really seem to have a search function? That's what the middle mouse button's for! Scroll away! I'm gonna look for a couple things and then bookmark.

Near impossible, since Disqus the site doesn't really seem to have a search function? You can do a google site search for disqus.com - I've tried it with random roles and it does seem to work. Just use "site:disqus.com" as part of the google search.

With the approaching Discus Demise and Kinja-pocalypse (Thanks Ben Grimm ), I think it is vitally important for us to take a moment to reflect on what will be lost if the previous comments are deleted. I would like each of us to post our favorite examples of the weird, disgusting, subversive, and truly sublime comment threads of AVC History. To begin, I offer the classic Holiday Pants Crapping Thread. Thanks to miller back at the AVC, we now have a working link to the above comment thread. It's a Christmas miracle!

Oh, man, it's been too long since I've had a chance to hear Bonertime's jaunty theme music.

How about a "Great Deleted Articles Comments Threads" list? Like the Buzz one, and the deleted racist rant Hatesong article, and so on. How can one search for them on Discus? What about the Holy Grail of lost comment threads, the Great AVC "New Comment System Test Debacle" comment thread, does it exist anywhere? I am not sure about searching, I haven't poked around a bit. But when you click on your profile and that sidebar pops up, if you click on "view in discussion" it takes you to the disqus page, not the AV Club page. The format seems to be disqus.com/home/discussion/avclub/[article url] Here's the AV Club disqus page: disqus.com/home/forum/avclub/I feel like that spot.im debacle may or may not exist anywhere, but certainly not on disqus. For anyone looking these up all these years later, and finding it not working to copy and paste the AVC article link into the form PET listed, I discovered the you need to drop the numbers at the end, and replace each dash - in the name with an underscore _ and that seems to make the links direct you to the discus discussion page.
