The third photo provoked an audible "WHOA!" from me. The remaining photos rendered me speechless. Edit: OMG, I thought you were kidding about "all contents included". But, of course you weren't. Of course. How could it be otherwise? I was a fool. Only $550k, and we could probably get them down to, like $475? We could all pitch in & it could be the TIF timeshare!

We could then play TIF Scavenger Hunt every time one of us stayed there! Gotta wonder if there is an interesting story behind that. Or, if it is exactly what it appears to be and therefore is super depressing.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't change a thing!!!! (In all seriousness, we have a peacock sculpture very similar to the one on their kitchen floor to the right of the fridge. Ours lives on our kitchen floor. Perhaps this listing is a sign from the decor gods telling us we need to get rid of our peacock? Or maybe the decor gods are telling us we're on the right track and need to start upping our game to be more like all that other shit?)

I do really like the vintage auto ads in the garage - size them down a little and I'd put them in my house.

I hate to think what someone who buys & renovates that house will do to it. The space is amazing and lots of original woodwork. I'd buy it.

I'd kind of love a house that big. We could have the Lego room we've always dreamed of. 325k for a house that size makes me wonder what's wrong with it.

LOL yeah $325k is twice as much as my friends paid for their newer (obviously smaller) in MUCH better shape house in the same suburb. It’s pricey for around here.

We are having our house painted. The beige is the old color, and the blue/yellow is the new. A much more beachy feel.

We switched our house from a drab slate blue a bunch of years ago, and that kind of cheerful blue was a consideration for us. Alas, "beachy" is kind of not the most congruous vibe for our not-anywhere-near-a-beach neighborhood. I'm living beachy-blue-house dreams vicariously through you! (I mean, not that we feel we have to answer to our neighbors. We grew up on The Big Orange Splot, and that message of doing whatever the fuck you want with your house really stuck with us.) (We ended up going with pink [with black shutters, white trim, and bright green doors], and I am fairly confident all our neighbors hate it. But our neighbors include people who repainted their house, which was khaki with khaki trim, and went with an even more khaki, with khakier trim. Who DOES that?)

Baby pink?

Like bubble-gum pink? Fuschia? Baby pink? It's a soft sort of preppy pink. I tend to think of it as "cottage" pink. This is what the color was when we moved in (and those are our first fruit trees on the day we planted them!): And this is what it looks like pink (this picture is a tinch washed-out; it's a bit more saturated in person), with some of those trees a bit bigger (this was taken about five years ago; the trees are even bigger now ):

I actually like both those colors. Thanks! And the blue really wasn't that egregious. The other house we lived in the longest was also blue, though, so we were looking for a change. I feel like the pink suits the spirit of our house better, though. And the painters, without our input on it at all, did this to the weirdo garage door on the side of our garage, that opens into the backyard. Talk about a life-improver! It makes me smile every day I look out there, that splash of green: (NOTE: You know how I've mentioned that we do zero yardwork that isn't related to our vegetable garden? Um... yeah. This was taken in October a couple of years ago, right before building the second floor on the garage. So, like, that's the tail end of a full summer of weeds growing there. And the stuff growing in front of that window on the left was our blackberry bramble, so it was functional. But the roof-high skunkweed? And the waist-high other weeds? And best, the weed-filled window box? That's just how we roll at stately Dick n Hisses Manor. Heh.) (For the record, none of this is visible from the front. And the blackberries were lost in the remodeling job.)

I actually like both those colors. I do too, but I gotta say I probably would have stuck with the slate blue (resale value) and just added that gorgeous pop of green on the doors and shutters.

I'm watching Good Bones (which I quite like) but I just hate open shelving in the kitchen. It's such a waste of space, and not everyone has nice dishes!

I'm watching Good Bones (which I quite like) but I just hate open shelving in the kitchen. It's such a waste of space, and not everyone has nice dishes! When I was house shopping I looked at a couple places with "we watch HGTV and these are the things that have been deemed trendy" open kitchen shelves. Usually coupled with "we can't afford to replace these crappy lower cabinets that have ill-sliding drawers and dated-looking doors, but we can paint them an odd color and stick new knobs and pulls on them." Like yeah, that's not functional for *actually* living here."
