This is what I see when I click on the link:  That's because some of the many many people who know idiot king is a dick reached out to the AVC and let them know he's a dick, and the AVC took down its post linking to his gofundme. Y'all know I actively campaigned to get him booted here, and I'm the one who clicked "ban" on the Avocado, but this makes me feel shitty. He did a really shitty thing, and acted shitty about it afterwards too. I don't think that means he deserves to DIE OF CANCER. |

I think it's more: a) An understandable level of "are we sure this guy isn't full of it" given some of the crap he's pulled in the past and to a much lesser extent b) a little disbelief that AVC would put up that kind of commenter-centric article given the history of them getting burned by that sort of thing Pretty sure most of the people posting on this are going to feel fucking awful if it was all on the level and, of course, "err on the side of believing people who say they have cancer" is a reasonable, possibly better approach to the whole situation. |

Setting aside whether or not IK actually has cancer, look at it this way: it's one thing to want, like, Woody Allen to die of cancer. It's another thing to actively ask people to pay for Woody Allen's cancer treatment and use "You all know what a great guy Woody Allen is!" as your pitch.

If he's faking he's doing a LOT of work to fake it.
Like I don't like him as a person and I never will. But I'm not sure everyone reaching out to tell the AVC to take that article down were doing it out of genuine concern.

For the record, I don't know who spoke to AVC or why it was taken down because nobody explained, it was an assumption on our part..."everyone reaching out to tell the AVC"? Who?
If he actually has cancer then I hope he gets treatment. I think there's plenty of reasons to be suspicious of him at this point, totally unrelated to the reasons for his being banned here and at the Avocado.
