Hey everyone! I don't stop by here very often, but I just saw the preview of the new Batgirl over at the Old Country and SO CONFUSED and maybe y'all can help.
- Why is she like 25? Is this, like, not the Barbara Gordon I know? Is it her...niece or something? The Barbara Gordon I know is in her 30s. And a paraplegic, also. - Does she have superpowers? She's apparently looking into that dude's bag and seeing the tablet he stole.
I have no problem with the preview itself - a hipster hero is a fairly obvious idea and there's no reason it shouldn't work - I just don't recognize this young lady at all.

I don't follow comics super close, but I do know that DC completely reset their entire line a few years back. So basically in the "official" universe of those books, most of the character history you're describing just didn't happen anymore and they're basically starting over.

And, she wasn't seeing through the bag; she was remembering seeing the hoodie guy walking out, clutching the stolen iPad.
New52 is apparently a system-wide reboot.
