The final Avengers 2 poster has arrived! I assume this means a new trailer is in our near future! The more I look at this poster, the more I like and get irritated at certain aspects of it. The line-up of the main 6 characters look great, and I love the cryptic shot of The Vision, but Nick Fury looks shoehorned in, and what the hell is up with the poses for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver?? Now, this poster did give a really cool revelation; the cast & crew list at the bottom of the poster subtly announces that Anthony Mackie will be in the movie, almost certainly as The Falcon! Excelsior to that development! I also see Idris Elba and Hayley Atwell, previously confirmed to be the in film, are also in that roster, always nice to see their names in a cast list for any film!

Too bad that Paul Bettany still isn't top billed (Jarvis and now Vision), but yeah, great cast there!

The Russo Brothers have officially signed on to direct both parts of The Avengers: Infinity War!

Carade Yeah but... as what? I mean Glenn Close was in Guardians of the Galaxy, and who even remembers that.

Holy crap indeed. Julie Delpy is definitely not a name I would have expected in the cast list of a Marvel superhero movie. I feel like she ends up showing her breasts in most of the movies I've seen her in.

Wait Thomas Kretschmann is in the Avengers movie? I doubt he'll have any lines as memorable as 'Your filthy rapist god ambitions are shit. You're full of shit, Horus!', which is actual dialogue from the last time he had a starring role in a comic book movie, as the lead of Immortel Ad Vitam back in 2004.

MILD POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOLLOW. BE WARY!!!
Just read some mild spoilers this morning that, interestingly, mention that Hope Van Dyne will become The Wasp in the MCU, but she won't become the character in Ant-Man. I've got no idea how accurate this stuff is (it's from Joblo), but I am curious about this. Considering there's no Ant-Man 2 until after Infinity War, when on Earth could Hope become The Wasp?

Den of Geek has a review up of Age of Ultron here. No spoilers in the review but they're not that impressed with the movie; they don't think it is as good as the first Avengers (or Winter Soldier/Guardians of the Galaxy); it is apparently a bit of a mess in trying to juggle its multiple plots and some other stuff. They say it is a lot like Iron Man 2; not really repeating what made the first film work and weighed down by franchise expectations (though better than Iron Man 2, the only Marvel film they compare it favourably too.) They don't dislike it, they praise the banter - this is Den of Geek; they are as enthusiastic as our own Nerd In The Basement - but they're just not wowed. They also feel Loki is more developed than Ultron.

So I saw Ultron. I liked it.
What you expect it to be is likely what you'll get.

Carade I'll spoiler tag my response, but I'll be vague enough as to not be spoilery anyway: Not really - one of them has a meatier role than the other one, but that's relative meat. That one could probably return.

Captain America: Civil War has just announced numerous new additions to its cast, which include Paul Rudd reprising his role as Ant-Man, plus Don Cheadle and Paul Bettany will reprise their roles as War Machine and The Vision in the movie, which is great to hear considering how entertaining both guys (especially Betanny) were in Age of Ultron. They don't mention it on their report (or at least, they don't as of the time I'm writing this) but Marvel has actually also confirmed that a cast member from The Incredible Hulk is finally returning to the MCU: William Hurt as General "Thunderball" Ross!
I suspect other characters (like Nick Fury, Maria Hill and Linda Cardellini's character) will also be announced as in the movie shortly, but damn, what a cast!

@patrickbatman Julie Delpy is Black Widow's instructor in her flashback sequences. So yeah a really minor part.

Sincerely that is all I was thinking about during the Natasha/Banner moments in AoU, more so than the fact that their relationship is somewhat a sudden thing. I was thinking during those scenes, "HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND BITCH BACK OFF." (On an unrelated note it is 2:30 in the morning here and I should be sleeping now).

Tom Holland is playing Peter Parker in the MCU, and Jon Watts will direct the first solo Spider-Man film.
Solid choice I suppose, but c'mon Marvel! Tony Revelori woulda been PERFECT for Peter Parker!

Stay with me now: how about Sean Hayes on SNL's Weekend Update in 2001 as Tom Holland in "Billy Elliot" as Peter Parker?

Shared MCU movie villains, from best to meh:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier Thor Iron Man 3 The Avengers Avengers: Age of Ultron Captain America: First Avenger Iron Man Ant-Man Guardians of the Galaxy The Incredible Hulk Thor: The Dark World Iron Man 2
What have we learned? 1) Tom Hiddleston is best when undiluted. (Ultron would have ranked higher but for the same reason.) 2) Powered villains with personality are best, followed by businessmen in power suits, followed by generic evil overlords and/or hammy actors. 3) Jeff Bridges makes up for a less-cool power suit than Corey Stoll by being Jeff Bridges.

Does MCU TV count? Because I'd put Wilson Fisk just beneath Alexander Pierce in terms of being terrifyingly realistic in his motives, operation, and goals.

Ultron, Loki, Alexander Pierce and Kingpin are my favorite MCU villains. Red Skull and Yellowjacket have some poor writing under their belt, but the actors playing them lend genuine menace to them (especially Corey Stoll as Daren Cross. That scene where he confronts Hank Pym in his home had me on the edge of my seat in his understated presence). Ronan and Guy Pearces Mandarin are my picks for most underrated MCU baddies, while Malekith and Whiplash are easily the weakest bad guys in this universe.

Let's not forget Sam Rockwell's Justin Hammer. Sam Rockwell is always the best.

Massive Ant-Man Spoilers Below! Be Wary!
So when do we think Hope Van Dyne is gonna suit up as The Wasp? I woulda thought Captain America: Civil War, but apparently she isn't in the film (though who knows. Falcon wasn't supposed to be in Age of Ultron until they did reshoots for the movie, maybe they'll do the same for Wasp). Kevin Feige has confirmed she'll suit up as Wasp sometime in Phase Three, and she'll certainly be in Infinity War. Any chance she'll appear before then?
I did think it'd be kinda cool if she popped up in Doctor Strange, going to the Supreme Sorcerer for his help in retrieving her mother from the Quantum Realm.

Official promo art for Captain America: Civil War is out! Can't quite squint hard enough on the top picture, but I assume that's Van Camp's Sharon Carter to the left of Cap?
I'm still pretty pessimistic about this movie. Winter Soldier was great, but Age of Ultron really left me cold. This really looks another "set up the pieces for the next installment" movie in that vein.
