The world, AKA a fairly small but nonetheless passionate and devoted fanbase, and I, are in preemptive mourning as we impatiently await to see how exactly the series will go out. I sincerely believe it will be as perfect and affecting as the famous, "It's a magical world, let's go exploring" ending of Calvin and Hobbes.
I'm usually happy to see fictional things I love end, being happy that they'll go out on top, grateful for resolution, etc. But. .
Waaaaaah I'm not fucking ready for it yet this time, man. I went through a decade's worth of content in a month or so. And now suddenly it's almost over? I won't be checking it every Monday? Guh.

What! For some reason I thought it was ending in summer. THIS IS TOO SOON. Fuuuck. I'm basically down to Dinosaur Comics, Octopus Pie, Dumbing of Age, and the beaten, battered, zombified corpse of Questionable Content.

No. NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!
Girls with Slingshots was something I read fairly regularly back in the day, stopped for whatever reason (probably some sort of lengthy business trip or vacation the disrupted my regular internet usage), and only just last week remembered about it and have been reading through the hundreds of strips I'd missed. This makes me somewhat sad to say the least.

Dammit...and now I'm entirely caught up. Couldn't pace yourself could you? Had to go and read the entire thing?

I feel like it was way too sudden but also a completely perfect way to end it in-universe. I don't know. I'm so conflicted.

the beaten, battered, zombified corpse of Questionable Content. aka For Better or for Worse online. I gave up on that one a loong time ago (I think over a hookup I felt was contrived/clear evidence the author ran out of ideas) and for whatever reason just kind of drifted out of reading Octopus Pie (I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an rss hiccup I just failed to rectify). The name Girls with Slingshots sounds familiar but I don’t think I ever read it.

I gave up on that one a loong time ago (I think over a hookup I felt was contrived/clear evidence the author ran out of ideas) Well, Jeph has openly stated that he only ever mapped out to strip #500, so I guess we all should've seen this coming. I still hate-read it because I want to see where it ends up, but I stopped giving it my full attention whenever that dude with the robot arm showed up and they went to Hannelore's dad's space station. SPOILERS The Marten-centric strips have become a lot more engaging and grounded now that he's started dating Claire, but the cast of characters is so large that it's hard to care about anyone else at this point. Even Faye's alcoholism / departure from Coffee of Doom has felt like melodrama for the sake of melodrama.
