Go Broncos and/or whoever helps me keep siphoning around $800 per season from my office league (mostly comprised of old men who think this year's the Cowboys' year... every year...) As a Cowboys fan, I can definitely say that this will not be their year...again.

As a Cowboys fan, I can definitely say that this will not be their year...again. Way too early to give up hope, Cowboys have had quite the stretch against the All-D Broncos, the very surprising Rams, and of course the nemesis Packers. On the menu - 49ers, Chargers, at least one Redskins win, Giants, Raiders (sans Carr?) should be winnable. That's seven. Not infeasible to say that they take a couple more from teams like the Eagles and, I dunno, the low-output Seahawks and sneak in as a WC. Sophomore slumps suck but they're not always fatal.

I bet it would've been to watch that KC-Oakland game as a neutral observer, but as a Chiefs fan: fuck everything.

I predict that the Raiders will close out their season at 8-8, 9-7 if we get lucky.
There's a lot they need to work on before they get anywhere, but at least it's an improvement over their three win season two years ago. Baby steps.

Finished third in overall points in my big-money office league.
Didn't make the playoffs regardless.
It's almost as if they wanted to keep the reigning two-time champion out so much that they had their best games of the season against me every time.

Does one play make up for an epically shit season? I'm almost sold... best thing I've seen since Beastquake at least.

As a Vikes fan... woooo! But seriously how much money would you have made on a prop bet in August saying the 4 conference champ starting QBs would be Brady, Bortles, Foles, Keenum

For a brief moment there we got to see a delirious future where the Jaguars made the Super Bowl... sadly we are still stuck in this unforgiving, unceasing reality where the Pats still ride high. Ugh

Ah, here are the get-your-hopes-up Vikings I grew up with. Something about the world makes sense again.

While in a vacuum the only inherently obnoxious thing about this particular Eagles team is that Doug Pederson goes for the fast food server sun visor look. I just can't root for them. I must begrudgingly favor the Pats.
Like other Giants fans I could say it's so Big Blue could remain the only team to have beaten (twice no less) the Brady-Belichick era Pats in the Super Bowl, and/or residual respect for the latter from his days on Parcells' staff. But I know that's a cop out, as I'd have enthusiastically favored the Vikings (or Saints, Falcons, Rams, Panthers) had they been Super Bowl bound.
My reasoning is this. If the Pats win again, the odiousness of it will be nothing new. And I'm certain that the 2020's promises them at most a return to the middle of the pack if not a decade in the desert. And I think their fans will quiet down a bit once that new normal has settled in. I don't see them becoming the Cowboys or Dolphins redux, where extended mediocrity has no bearing on their fandoms. BUT if the Eagles can finally claim a Super Bowl win the gates of Hell will open spewing batteries and shitty velvetta and low grade beef sandwiches.

What is better, one insufferable fanbase or two insufferable fanbases? The pats are the right choice.

When I think of this matchup, I think the best outcome would be a recreation of that scene from The Dark Knight Rises.
As a curling fan, I quite enjoyed the Vikings' TD celebration in the first quarter. It's too bad they let the Eagles steal all the remaining ends.
