Come on, people, let's find the golden needles in this steaming haystack of garbage. And apparently sling around some loose metaphors while we're at it.
What are your favorite song mash-ups?
"Psychosocial Baby" is that rare mash-up that improves enormously on both songs. This is on my iPod, and I listen to it as unironically as possible.

Psychosocial Baby is neat but it's no Crocodile Chop.
Imagine A Jump doesn't work quite as well as those two but it's still a cut above yr average mash up.

Another favorite that I would for real rather listen to than either song. The chorus is magnificent.

Amazingly, I discovered this on the radio while driving through western Pennsylvania last weekend:
I remember when I first heard about the Gray Album. This is what I wanted, not just Jay-Z over Beatles samples.

I'll assume most folks on here won't be familiar with British R&B singer Craig David but don't let that stop you from enjoying this one.

Rolling Stones vs Marvin Gaye, because why not? The shift from, "I must say, when I found out yesterday" as Gimmie Shelter slides down to a minor key is a thing of beauty. In "I have it on my phone but can't find on YouTube" mash-up news, I have a fantastic mash-up that blurs It's Raining Men and the Soft Cell version of Tainted Love with a touch of Rhianna and Skunk Anansie. It's utterly amazing - the lyric is It's Raining Men, the music mostly Tainted Love and Skin and Rhianna are relegated to backing vocals (where Rhianna belongs, quite frankly). It's great because it moves the It's Raining Men from a major key, which gives it its celebratory edge, to a minor key. The mashed version makes it sound less like a celebration and more like a demand and it's surprisingly powerful. Given It's Raining Men has become a gay classic, the idea that the song can be reinterpreted as an insistance on rights, rather than a celebration of them, means the mashup does what any good mashup or cover does - it sheds new light on old material. If I find it I'll post it. I love that mashup of Seven Nation Army and Sweet Dreams, DangOlJimmyITellYouWhat EDIT: I found it! Well almost - this version doesn't cut back to It's Raining Men at the conclusion, which the version I have does, but that's a very minor difference.

One of my favorite songs of the '80s + one of the best thrash metal songs ever = "Walk Like An Angel Of Death"

So I've tried in vain to find this for a while now - but I remember coming across a mashup called "M1" which was, as the title suggests, the vocals from Metallica's "One" spliced onto the instrumental from M83's "Midnight City." I think it's a marked improvement on both songs, honestly, and I'm annoyed I can't find it anywhere.
