We're going to not listen to Sleepytime Gorilla Museum again this month, aren't we? *kicks can*

Someone should break the tie or we'll have to redo the entire poll.
Edit: A runoff is okay if a couple are tied at the end.

I've done my part by un-voting for Rush. Now someone just do the same thing for...well, everyone but Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. (I can dream, dammit.)

Just voted for Rush and Sonic Youth. Yay, Sonic Youth wins! I think?

I'm jumping the gun here, but is Rather Ripped the forecast of break-up between Moore and Gordon? All the songs seem to have lyrical content to that effect. Confirmation bias in hindsight, or "It's been in front of my eyes the whole time!"?

Confirmation bias in hindsight, or "It's been in front of my eyes the whole time!"? To the extent I focus on their lyrics, I don't interpret them autobiographically, though the album does open with the repeated line: 'You keep me coming home again'. That's the only one I can think of that brought their break-up to mind, though obviously not forecasting it. But if I listened to the whole thing again with that in focus, I might agree. repulsionist On the other hand, it does have a track called 'Sleeping Around', doesn't it?

While I'm not sure what August Record Club is, I do know I enjoy Rather Ripped.

While I'm not sure what August Record Club is, I do know I enjoy Rather Ripped. We bullshit about what the record means to us; why we like it; and what it may mean in the Western cultural landscape. Generally, these have a lifespan of about 1-2 weeks after the winner is posted.

Thanks for running the Club this month, Lord Lucan. I've now found myself with a little more time than I expected.
(I voted for Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.)
