Welcome one and all to season seven of Bob’s Burgers! We start off the reviews with “Flu-ouise” where the usually indestructible Louise is laid low by the flu and fever dreams occur and singing! Excuse the lateness and unformattedness, normal programming should resume next week.
Episode 1: Flu-ouise
Store of the week: That’s What See Sawed, Tools for Women (with “About a Toy”) Exterminator of the week: Insect-ual Healing Exterminators Burgers of the day: Endive Had the Time of my Life Burger
“When did Kuchi Kopi get boobs? I mean, I knew this day would come but not so soon.”
I like Louise, who doesn’t? She can be unyielding but oftentimes is the softest of all being the youngest Belcher kid and needing to strike out her own turf. Here in this episode, we get a few more details about her but also that maybe who she is now won’t be her forever, they’re doing a lot to chip away at her tough exterior which does concern me. While the core of this was very much about forgiveness, it was mostly about the flu and wrecking someone’s chosen nightlight which is a little more fun than the Very Special moment we had here. I really liked the fever dream world Louise had and how versatile Jon H. Benjamin is with his work as both Kuchi Kopis. There was singing which, again, not so sold on because nobody can really sing though it was pleasant enough talk-singing and Louise is also really good with an oar. We also have yet another late night i store that Teddy knows about in the toy store with Bob trying to find a replacement Kuchi Kopi nightlight. It was pleasing, amused me and had some heft to it even if Linda is a total butterfingers.
B+, Watchable, small guest role from Amy Schumer but also so minor it might not have merited such a heavy hitter of a guest star.
