THIS drink is a marked-down Mondavi moscato that spent too long in my sister's car on a hundred-degree day. It's kind of gross, but I mixed it with some Safeway Refreshe Apple Cider Flavored Sparkling Water Beverage.

Ameretto, Jim Beam and Cherry Coke. It's getting the job done.

Ameretto, Jim Beam and Cherry Coke. It's getting the job done. Oof, be careful son. My head and stomach ache in future sympathy for your morning. Is that a real sentence? Anyway. I'm finishing off a bottle of prosecco, my choice of summer sodas. If only 7-11 had a prosecco fountain - seasonally, I mean. I'm not a monster. Hard cider for fall.

Just drank half a glass of cheap Beringer Chardonnay that I purchased to use in a soup on Saturday night. Now my face is bright red and on fire, and there are hives on my arms and back. Have I mentioned yet that I HATE WINE?

This simple concoction works from Shirley temple to "girl drink drunk".
Cinnamon schnapps (I had Goldschlager to perform transverse alchemy) San Pellegrino Melagrano e Aranciata (Pomegranate and Orange) Lime or Lemon Crushed ice

Don Julio margarita on the rocks. I'm in Mexico currently so it feels appropriate.

I'll give it you straight, like a pear cider that's made from 100% pears. It's a pear cider that's made from 100% pears.

Even my favorite hard pear cider, the Ace Pear, is a blend of apple and pear. It's still phenomenally delicious, though. Don't know that I've ever had a true perry, in fact.

I like that Stewart Lee bit but I always feel bad for Mark Watson while I'm laughing. The fella's a good comedian who happened to want an easy pay day for doing an advert which I sympathise with because I'd sell out in an instant too given the chance.

Made my own faux Bailey's and it's deeeeeeelicious:
2 cans sweetened condensed milk 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 tbsp chocolate syrup 1 thick shot of espresso (or some instant espresso powder) 2 cups whiskey Serve over ice or in coffee
It's way too sweet and rich, but it's Christmas for Christ's sake. Yum!

Can't really remember everything I tried last night, but the highlight was an Old Fashioned made with Buffalo Trace. Also enjoyed an ale from Hoppin' Frog Brewery, as well as a lovely Backwoods Bastard from Founders.

This is the leftover booze from my NYE party. What shall I sip this evening? It won't be the $4.99 rum I bought just for the purpose of spiking the egg nog. Neither will it be the Ballast Point Indra Kunindra that I loooooove but have been waiting for someone to share with me. No one likes it but me it seems!

I don't know if it has a name, but it's cross between a White Negroni and a Boulevardier. 1 part Suze 1 part Kina l'Avion d'Or (or Lillet) 1 part Bourbon

The Jameson was brought over by one of the party guests, I purchased the Elijah Craig. Am I cool now? I shouldn't be so snobby. I just associate Jameson with bros who think it's super classy or some shit instead of just an okay third tier whiskey. Your assessment is pretty accurate. I say this as a bartender.

I encourage you check out the Ace Pineapple if you have the chance. Assuming you like pineapple, that is. It does for pineapple what Ace Pear does for pear: sweet, bubbly, assertive, and it actually tastes of its namesake. I still think Pear is best, but Pineapple is a close second.

@patrickbatman totally and completely not trying to be grossly inappropriate, considering my trying circumstances, but maybe in a parallel universe we should get married.
(ps TI friends, my current-universe husband is doing ok. Waiting waiting waiting so much waiting, but I feel like things will sort out, hopefully without bankrupting us haha! Haha. Did you know that in america, without insurance, a medevac helicopter can cost up to $20,000? I mean, maybe - because no one would ever give you even an estimate on that cost, and let's face it: they're probably not putting the uninsured onto helicopters. You don't think classicism exists in the good ol' USA? Try being sick and poor. Sigh, sorry. Didn't intend to be a drag or a scold, just wanted to do a little harmless flirting, see above.)
(pps you're the best bunch of strangers I've never met xxoo)

This isn't alcohol so it's cheating a bit, but I just started making cold brew coffee and I really like it! You don't have to dilute the coffee with melting ice like with normal ice coffee, and the flavors different and less bitter than hot coffee, and you can just make one batch for the whole week! (To make this relevant I will put some kind of liquor in this evening, whiskey perhaps?)

Liz n Dick My mother’s part German, so her (and my) kitchens look a like that. My cousin’s a French professor and very sloppy, though—my Dad calls it “the Franco-Prussian War” whenever my Mom’s asked to help out.

I’m marveling at Telly’s perfectly clean, artfully wonderfully organized stereotypically German kitchen. Good thing I cleaned the spot before taking the pictures. Not in the frame are dirty dishes left and right from it. My kitchen is very tiny and despite that we somehow worked a washing machine and a dryer in there, so it has to be well organized. Sucks a bit while cooking, hardly any appliances are "out in the open", everything is crammed into some cupboards.

If you're curious, the best way to make a grapefruit gin and tonic is by using grapefruit bitters and a grapefruit peel garnish, and not fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice (with or without peel). Extensive, one-man research proves this.
