You might have to read the links for this one. Three choices each until the end of the month.
Zeal & Ardor, Zeal & Ardor

My second nomination, Lambchop's The Bible, seems to have been inadvertently combined with the Sophie album.

I was fully prepared to give my third vote to Cave In, because of course, but then Crash Test Dumbass swooped in with a late nomination for one of my favorite death metal records of the last five years, put out by unarguably the best band from the new wave of progressive death metal, Black Crown Initiate. A wave of bands that ask, "What if Opeth didn't decide to suck and start playing dad-prog?" Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape is an absolute banger of a prog-death record, and in fact I think I'll put it on right now while I work.
(Edit: oh, and the albums I nominated are good too, and you should vote for those.)

OK everyone. The poll links to the Sophie album, so use that option to vote for that album.

Thanks ganews. I'll use this opportunity to thump giving The Bible a listen even if it doesn't win. It's one of Kurt Wagner's best, a piano-heavy meditation on mortality (though in Wagner's typical funny, abstruse style) inspired by his dying father.

The Wikipedia description of that Zeal & Ardor record pleasantly recalls this all-time classic:

I can't help you. I don't even know what *type* of music comes from these artists.

I just think they're neat and maybe you will too! You might not. It's possible. Let's find out one way or another.

Whew! For a very brief moment I thought I might actually win with my weird-ass Django Unchained metal.
Anyway, I love the Black Crown record, but with its fate more or less sealed, I shifted my vote over to Turnstile.
