April Fools was last month, NudeViking. It's a good record. I'll write words about it later.

I was not familiar with The Linda Lindas, so I watched the video for "Oh!", and that was good. As an occasional pre-bedtime activity with the kids, we'll all watch music videos together. I picked "Oh!" for the family, and it was a big hit. My wife immediately added it to her playlist.
I don't know if I'll participate in this thread further, but I will definitely listen to this album.

Since this thread started with an adversarial tone, I will push back.
This was a good record. I find nothing to criticize here that couldn't be said of 40-45 year-old punk albums.* Do you have negative things to say about the Go-Go's? Yeah, the influences are pretty obvious. But the album had breadth - multiple vocalists, multiple styles. "Cuántas Veces" has a hell of a presence. I wouldn't mind the bass being higher in the mix in places for some of the really good lines ("Why"), or the tempo a bit faster on some songs.
Is it a gimmick? Sure, they're kids. They have a song about the pet cat. The first time I saw the video for "Oh!" after hearing the song on the radio, at first I thought it was some band with kid stand-ins. Gimmicks are a time-honored musical tradition across every kind of pop.
*A while back on the punk radio block I listen to, the DJ was talking up the other programming blocks and mentioned how good the blues DJ was "because the blues are pretty boring really, but he mixes it up". And I thought, yes some blues songs are very formulaic and twelve-bar-blues exists - but you are saying this as a fan of punk music.

Since this thread started with an adversarial tone, I will push back. It wasn't my intent to be adversarial but I apologize to our Nude friend and others if it came off that way. I didn't care for the half of the record I listened to but I also don't care for about 95% of punk either.

I have no idea on the band (yet) but I upvoted pantsgoblin because I like a good cheap shot

Looks like this band named themselves after a movie which is itself named after a song by the Blue Hearts, Here they are playing it:
This kind of band is going to keep rock music alive.

I enjoy the shit out of this album. I pre-ordered the vinyl when it came out after all the hype around their library performance of "Racist, Sexist Boy".

I've been a drummer a long time, and while I can certainly play kit as well as or better than this 12 year old - or 11 at the time? 10? - I certainly cannot do it while singing.
This band is rad.

I only listened to three or four songs off of the album, but I liked them, and I had liked Racist, Sexist Boy when it came out. Also whoever directed the video for Oh! should win a damn medal. I'm'a go watch it again. And then try to catch up with the rest of the album.
