On this August Record Club occasion, you may nominate up to two albums by artists whose music has been featured in an anime or in a video game. It doesn't have to include the particular music featured, though that would be more interesting, just something by the same artist. Name the anime/game origin along with your nomination.
Disallowed exceptions: Yoko Kanno's Cowboy Bebop original soundtrack (other Yoko Kanno music is allowed), though I do encourage you to listen if you haven't heard it
all Michael Jackson music used in "Moonwalker" nominations based solely on pop music rhythm games like Guitar Hero, etc.

Not a weeb, but I had an easy time here: Boa - The Race of a Thousand Camels (1998), as heard in Serial Experiments Lain (and its famous opening credits).

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas (1990) Theme relation? Redacted. Music supervisors love CT and Heaven sounds like J-pop to me anyway so I figured the band must have featured in an anime or video game but I can't find an example.

The Pillows - Happy Bivuac ( link) Japanese rock band. Multiple songs from this album are featured in the anime FLCL. I wanted to include the album with that banger of an end credits song, but turns out that's only on a greatest hits compilation. I wanted to nominate a studio album.
Mastodon - Crack the Skye ( link) The songs "Oblivion" and "Crack the Skye" from one of the prog-metal sludgers' best loved albums appear in the 2009 video game Brütal Legend. (And if any other metal fans are coming up short on nominations, this game's a treasure trove. Enslaved. Strapping Young Lad. Dethklok.)

Thanks, Bro, for the Brutal Legend link. That was helpful. With that, I nominate Ministry - The Land of Rape and Honey (1988). (Yeah, I don't love nominating that provocative title but it's the one with "Stigmata" from the game and, for me, it was all downhill for Jourgensen after that one.)

Ah hell, why not nominate an honest-to-god video game soundtrack? Magnus "Souleye" Palsson - PPPPPP (2010) is the OST from the indie game classic VVVVVV. Almost entirely recommendable just for its hilarious album art:
