For January, nominate up to two albums by creators who passed away in 2023 (or since the last two weeks of 2022). Be sure to note who it was that died. It would make sense for it to be someone who was really important to the album you're nominating, instead of e.g. the third replacement bassist that was inaudible in the mix except it happens to be your favorite band .

I’ll go with a couple of obvious ones, and their obvious albums:
Jeff Beck Group - Truth
The Pogues - If I Should Fall From Grace With God

Gordon Lightfoot, "The Way I Feel" (1967) Natural causes in May.
Gordon Lightfoot will always remind me of listening to his hits compilations with my dad, probably driving in the truck to go camping, and now's the time of the year for old family memories. This album has my favorite track, "Canadian Railroad Trilogy". This was recorded long before the 70s shag and Edmund Fitzgerald.

If we don't do "If I Should Fall From Grace with God" as della suggested I'll burn this website to cinders. Side note I don't know how record club works

Side note I don't know how record club works We get to vote on all these nominations before the end of the month. Something I’ve nominated has won maybe two or three times in 10 years, Nebraska being the high point. In fact, that might be the only time I’ve picked a winner. So let’s do this for yer man.

Really, no one's going to nominate our biggest loss?

Really, no one's going to nominate our biggest loss? It took a few seconds for the video to load after the text and I assumed this was going to be Tina Turner...

Really, no one's going to nominate our biggest loss? I mean, someone has to nominate Fush Yu Mang, right? I mean, Steve Harwell literally ended racism (see attached video at 1:30) !! And most importantly, it'll make Billy absolutely furious.
It won't be me, though. I think in tribute to the late great Wayne Shorter, I'll jazz up the joint and nominate Weather Report - Heavy Weather (1977). Perhaps I'll think of another before deadline. DJ Casper the Slide Man died this year, did you hear? Great occasion to explore his full discography, from "The Casper Slide Pt. 2" to the entirely hypothetical "Casper Slide Pt. 1."
