Hi, I'm Will Harris! You might know me from such features as Random Roles...and that's probably about it. But I'm really, really good at it. Heyyyyyy, it's Will Harris!! Will, you're the Best in the West, a true master of the interview.

Strelnikov, formerly Mr. Mike (when you didn't have to register to make comments - remember THOSE days?!?)
Like everybody else, very unhappy with the changes to the site.

Did I introduce myself? I don't think I did. I should check, or just introduce myself again anyway? I'm not wading through all these pages, but is it rude to post twice? I don't know. Who am I? I am Chicanery. I'm a person. I'm white. I'm a cisdude. I'm p. privileged and p. ignorant so you should always be doubtful of what I say. Unless this is all a lie. Oh this (the internet) is fun!

willharrisinva If I were to mail you a homemade 'best of' Random Roles coffeetable book, would you be creeped out and charmed, or just creeped out? Also, my name is an Inner Space reference, obviously.

Hello, I’m Jean-Luc Lemur. I’m posting here again now that the redesign kerfuffle has calmed.
I’m all about intersectionality—I’m at the intersection of white, male, and with hair.

Sarapen, late of the AV Club (and still on there). There is a character named Sarapen in the book Lonely Werewolf Girl. I am not named after that character. There is also a Bulgarian jewellery store named Sara Pen. I am not connected to that store either. Mostly I'm here because I wanted to read the Legend of the Galactic Heroes reviews.

I'm Enkidum. I've been around the AV Club forever. I used to call myself Enkidu on various places and then I got somewhere where that name was taken by some other asshole who'd read Gilgamesh, so I changed it to Enkidum and it's stuck with me. Uh… I'm argumentative and really sleepy. The end.

Can you comp us some jaunty-yet-functional A.V. Club tote bags? Are you a spy? Are you going to make us fall in love with you and then betray us in an action-packed set piece featuring a swiveling chair, a strokable pet, and an evil laugh? Do you have any plans to interview Abe Vigoda and ask him how it felt to portray Sgt. Philip K. Fish, as that would be unbelievably awesome?

I'm DLoBurns, I'm a non-Mo from Utah, I don't comment much, I can't find a suitably large version of my old av, and one of the few things I like about the redesign is that the game section looks like the rest of the site.

Yeah, I'm not sure that I hate the redesign. I find it odd and different, but there was some ugliness to the old site also. I'm indifferent to it. I'll figure out what I don't understand and then it will all be fine. Although I am thankful that the TI problems spurned this particular offshoot, because it has made me interact with all of you wonderful people. So... I'm kind of thankful for the redesign. And I am OR-7, a wolf, not that I need an introduction, since I've commented here and there around these parts. But, in case I haven't talked to you/seen you, Hello, and welcome.

Post by HBO CEO of Tits on Dec 2, 2013 3:35:06 GMT -5
Hello, I was most recognizably know as the HBO CEO of Tits. I date from the pre-registration days, when I always had a different name for each comment, often just whatever the nonsense it had me put in to prove I was human. I have also posted under the names "Pepe Sylvia" and "Vaudevillain" (RIP banned account). Vaudevillain's postings would only ever be in the format of "Fassbender? I hardly know her!" but with Kelsey Grammer, jeremy renner, inserted where appropriate. It turns out claiming to be CEO of Tits makes people remember you and respond to what you say at a much higher frequency, and the gimmick leads to a much wider variety of relevant applicable situations than I had imagined, so I eventually stopped logging into to pepe and just kept using the venerable CEO for non-TV executive/HBO/tit related commentary. I can be found on the newswire, an enormous variety of TV club reviews (though especially Game of Thrones and Girls. Got a reputation to uphold), and any old other thing that sparks my interest.
I live in Milwaukee and watch a fuckton of TV and quite a bit of film. I am going to collect roughly 30 copies of the last Onion print edition, frame them, and give them out as gifts for Christmas.

How does being non-Mo in Utah feel? I've got a possible job offer in Utah, but everyone tells me that Mormons are really insular. I'd appreciate your perspective.

The town size and culture (and amount of tourism) can make a big difference.

Disclaimer: I don't live in Utah, but I've visited many times and some of my family has lived there at various times. For the most part, I think the LDS/non-LDS stuff is overblown, and living in most of Utah probably isn't a big deal as long as you're not expecting the nightlife of NYC. That said... Provo should be considered with care. In some ways it's the Stepford version of a college town.

Since 100% of my social life revolves around drinking alcohol, I have a hard time imagining how LDS/non-LDS stuff could be "overblown." I've never met a Mormon, but I'm having a hard time wondering what I'd do if I was going to hang out with one. Can't go to the bar. Can't go out for coffee. Can't go watch a game and have a few beers and some chicken wings. Like, what fucking social activities are you supposed to be able to do?

I'm silly buns, but without the space between silly and buns for whatever reason. You can change how your name looks in your profile settings... but the @ version of your name is fixed. So, you can be 'silly buns', but your handle for things like the Shoutbox stays as 🔪 silly buns. Hope that makes sense!
