Hello everyone. I'm Kyle. I'm a long time AV Club reader/lurker. I never post, but over the years I feel as though I've developed a strong connection to the community. You've all given me so much (particularly the savage love commentariat), I felt like it was only the right thing to do to finally introduce myself.
A little about me: I'm a reluctant transplant from Chicago to Northern California. I'm here for grad school. Pursuing a PhD in cognitive neuroscience. I miss Chicago dearly; I visit often and can't wait until I get to live there again. I enjoy Simpsons references, O'Neal snark, drinking, and oversharing. I think we'll get along.
In particular, there are so many people in the AVC community who I feel like I've unilaterally been friends with for a very long time. I think we'd be friends if we ever had the chance to hang out, and I thought I would do the next best thing and stop lurking and come join you here on the TI forums. In particular, cookie_monster, scrawler, destructive recovery, idiot king, dikachu, nudeador, spicoli, wafflicious, On_2, reposted a7x fan, abradolph lincler, dr. livingstone, loretta west, core concept, mrs. langdon alger, drinking_with_skeletons, lordpuddleglum, Dack, beatrix kiddo, Persia, Lupin, oppyu, inamine, PowerThirteen, DRC, Dr. Rumak, Lord Lucan, (and too many others to list): you're all awesome people.

I'm Pastafarian, just like on AVC. (Actual name John) I was a long time lurker but tend to comment pretty regularly now, and even feel like I'm "friends" (as much as that is possible online) with several people. I just recently realized this place even existed (thanks to icecreamplanet)and felt like I was being initiated into a secret society by being invited to join. Glad to be here and get into discussions that might not normally happen within the confines of the AVC. I'm a 36 year old male, born in the USA but have lived in Canada for the last 15 years and I tend not to know how to properly end an intro.

I'll continue spinning these plates in a vicious cycle of obsequiously gaining friendships while burning bridges until I'm left with nothing. Those who take offense to my first post on the TI forums can take comfort in my downfall.
