Hi, yes. Hello. I am long-ago commenter wrath of kong. I used to lurk and sometimes participate in the comments section before registration was required (those were fun, interesting times). I stopped going to the AVC website once Disqus took hold, and because so many of my favorite writers ended up leaving. I don't expect anyone to remember ol' kong (feel free to say hi if you do, unless you think I owe you money), but I sure remember/recognize some of you from way back. I mostly liked hanging around the now-gone Videocracy threads. The AVCQ&A's were also pretty neat.
Anyway, this place seems really cool, and you guys seem to be a good bunch. I hope to contribute to this board in a positive manner

Hey everybody! I am not nearly as prolific a commenter on the AVC as a lot of y'all are, but I enjoy it (when not lamenting the site's old days), so I thought I'd join up here. The commentariat is really the best part of the site for me, these days. I am also Tomorrowville on the AVC (and I was on the Dissolve as well), but my real name is Kevin. I'm 33 and live in Fort Worth, Texas. Professionally, I work in IT, but it's not my passion. For that, I do writing (partly for money - I write a column about architecture, urban planning, transit, bikes, etc. for the local alt-weekly newspaper), freelance photography, and music. I play keyboards for a local noise pop band, and am working on my own project as well. I'm a Star Trek nerd, an MST3k nerd, and a big fan of thoughtful sci-fi in general. Musically, my tastes run through a variety of indie/twee pop, indie rock, riot grrrl, vintage pop, power pop, and alt rock bands (a random sampling of stuff in my library: Sleater-Kinney, Ex Hex, Heavenly (the UK indie pop band), the Magnetic Fields, the Beach Boys, the Monkees, the Apples in Stereo, Elf Power, Guided By Voices, Helium, Harvey Danger, Imperial Teen, the New Pornographers, Sleepy Kitty, That Dog, Upset, etc. etc. etc.) Looking forward to hanging out and participating whenever I can add something of value.  |

Hellooo. I'm moimoi. Been lurking on AVC since 2008 or so, but I didn't really get into commenting until 2012, when I was working from home. I tend to get busy with work, so mostly you'll see me comment on TV shows I've become addicted to (RIP Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood; viva Sleepy Hollow, Brooklyn 99, RuPaul's Drag Race). Really wish AVC would start covering Peaky Blinders - I would be all over that. But with the end of Mad Men, I am in the market for a new Spring/Summer obsession. Masters of Sex didn't do it for me, for some reason. I'm pondering Agent Carter, Daredevil, and/or Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, if anyone would like to comment on their addictive properties. My tastes run toward high production values, stylized action, dry comedy, and gratuitous sex/violence.
I'm a huge music fan, but I've never been into AVC's music coverage (the less said about sh*t like Dawes, the better). And I don't have as much time to keep up with film and comedy as I would like, but I'm working to change that. Anyway, glad to come aboard and perhaps meet some of you in Chicago (my hometown) or DC/LA where I travel from time to time.
