That's Justin "He Who Wrote Crackers Don't Matter" Monjo, incidentally. He has two very potentially interesting projects on his slate. On the one hand he's penning a HBO pilot that's some blend of mystery, sci-fi and fantasy with Wagnerian Der Ring and Tolkein Lord of the Rings influences. It is also about a dwarf detective. Who is played by Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage. His other, more pertinent to Farscape project is a TV movie that (some spoilers for the end of the series) follows a nineteen year old D'Argo Sun-Crichton, the child of Crichton and Aeryn. He grew up on Earth because he was hid there because apparently he has powers which would make him a threat. Source: Monjo pens HBO pilot, Farscape movieI don't know what to think. I mean, They closed off Earth pretty definitely and why would D'Argo have special powers? Well, whatever, I guess I can live with the connection to Earth so the series can update its pop culture references but I guess I'll wait and see about the rest of it. If this goes ahead, though... Please be good. Please be good.

Far more interested in the dwarf detective series, never got that deep into Farscape and I did watch for some time, should have maybe added that to my list of shows I watched the majority of which I didn't like.

The detective show sounds great, although I think the Farscape idea sounds dumb.
Honestly, tho, Monj is fantastic, so if anyone could produce something good from this silly WB-esque premise, it's him.

It's probably because of the comics! Which I only heard about because of some random post on scans_daily. The kid has some sort of time travel/alternate universe traveling powers.
I haven't read those, but I'm kind of more willing to roll with it, because according to what I could find online, it was all very, very Farscape-y, in that it was an unexpected complication that just serves to make John Crichton's life hell. Imagine all the fun of having a toddler who could at any moment be dragged into an alternate universe, possibly one in which there is no spaceship in the bit of space you happen to be occupying at that time...while of course trying to keep that fact secret.

I will say this: between the cancelation and the mini-series, Rockne wrote a 4-ish page story that took place on Hyneria and involved the whole cast. I love and respect Rockne a lot for giving us Farscape - I even watched Cult yo help a brother out - but what he wrote was so sappy and maudlin and not exactly mind-bloeingly-original that it made me think of a Chris Columbus movie. It had all the same OTT fan-pleasing as the mini-series, but it was even less rewarding. I don't know who's behind the comics, but I kinda hope it ain't Rockne...

It was Keith R.A. DeCandido, ThisIsNotAnInternetMeme. He's basically a media license writer - he's written for Star Trek, Supernatural etc.

I think maybe Rockne wrote like a blurb before it, so I assumed O'Bannon wrote it... Thanks, man!

ThisIsNotAnInternetMeme Nope, I meant the comics Liv was referring to (though I think Rockne co-wrote the first one.)
