Boredom most likely.
I love the Indiana Jones films, just can't get enough. They are wholly unique adventures that are just so damn fun. Who doesn't want to see a badass archeologist punching out Nazi's and such? So I'm always up for more Indy, and lo and behold netflix has The Young Idiana Jones Chronicles for me to consume. I've actually never seen a full episode, if anything maybe 5 minutes here or there from flipping through channels. So I'm going in blind here for the review, and if anyone is going to follow along they might be as well. I have never seen anyone talk about this show at all. Not like it isn't a known property, I suspect most people know it is out there but never had the urge to really watch. I don't really care for movie to tv adaptations, everything is smaller, the cast is not the same, etc. etc. However, with Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, I think it should be interesting. A new Indy adventure each week, who wouldn't love that? Really Indiana Jones is a perfect fit for movies and TV when you think about. So I am interested to see how the tv side went.
Now, a little background on the series. It was first produced/aired with no linear timeline in plan. George Lucas had planned out 70 stories for Indy's life leading up to the films, all of them didn't get produced. The series as it aired ws just jumping around the life of Indy and each week the audience would be in a different place. It had two regular seasons, then the third was 4 television movies. There was also a batch of unaired episodes. Eventually George Lucas decided to re-edit the series and put what had been released in chronological order. What became of that was The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. 22 feature length adventures with Young Indy. This is what netflix has up, though one adventure does seem to be missing from netflix "Mystery of the Blues". I will try to track that down when it get times for me to review it, but I might not be able to find it.
Now as to how I plan to review it. Probably one a week. These are around 90 minutes a piece, so it might be hard to do two a week. I hope some of you join in on the fun(well, presumed fun!).
