Summary:
Omar takes a walk in his pajamas and people run and give him bags of drugs.
The fallout from the subpoenas makes Rawls replace the new leader of the major case unit with someone who will keep them in line. Lester and Greggs ask to be reassigned.
Colvin quits his hotel security job after he is not allowed to arrest a connected john who beat a prostitute. The Deacon gets him work with the University studying youth crime.
The first day of school comes with Prez woefully unprepared. Most of the kids from the street are in his classes. Randy steals some hall passes to go to multiple lunch hours to sell candy. Two girls get into a fight and one cuts the other in the face with a razor.
Marlo wants a cut of Bodie's corner and Bodie has few options.
Colvin's university partner wants to focus on 19-20 year olds but Colvin quickly shows him they are a lost cause. They end up in the middle school where Prez is.
The Drug Co-Op considers teaming up with Marlo to push back against encroachment by New York gangs.
Omar and his partner hold up a stash house in a convenience store that Greggs had been staking out earlier.
Random thoughts:
Omar leaving his gun at home made me really nervous.
Rawls goes back and forth between being a decent guy and a scumbag, sometimes in a single scene.
I figured quick-tempered Prez would have shown up by now, maybe he has changed that much.
Ganews mentioned the parallels between different characters in the last episode. I have not pointed them out too much so far just because there are so many. There are layers and layers, but watching this episode one really stood out for me. Are Michael and Randy the new Avon and Stringer? If so I think we may get to Dukie being Wee-Bey and strangely enough Wee-Bey's son Namond, being more like D'Angelo. That is just disturbing on so many levels.
