Summary:
Marlo comes up with a plan to get back at Omar by implicating him in a murder/robbery.
Everyone is starting to turn against Mayor Royce. First Valchek tells Carcetti about the witness murder case being turned over the Greggs. When Watkins finds out the mayor is not supporting Daniels, he says he will sit the primary out. After Royce lays into Burrell and asks for Rawls' support, Rawls goes right to Carcetti to let him know about Watkins.
Prez tries a punishment and reward system but just ends up with the whole class in detention.
Colvin and the professor identify 8th graders as their focus, there are about 40 at the school who work the corners but they look to narrow it down to 10 or so to work with.
The new head of the major crime unit executes a number of raids on stash houses but his info is old and they get nothing. He has the crew install a camera where Maro hangs out but they are spotted.
Freamon and Bunk search everywhere for bodies including the forest and sewers with no luck.
Marlo agrees to work with the Co-op in return for info on the camera.
Dookie shows the other kids one of the bodies Chris and Snoop have been hiding after Randy keeps wondering if they are zombies.
Random thoughts:
I liked the comparison of Royce shaving while Carcetti was already on the street. Besides work ethic, it emphasized how shallow Royce is. Not saying Carcetti is an angel, but he is the scrappy underdog going after someone who has gotten too complacent.
I also like how Randy is so friendly with Prez, even helping him get into his locked car. Sure there is some manipulation there, but you can see him and the other 8th graders navigating two very different worlds.
I have not been too invested in the politics, but Carcetti and his campaign manager waiting until Rawls drove away before running to their car to get to Watkins was a great moment, as was Carcetti with Watkins: "Bullshit, I am within four points."
