Summary: Bunk gets a confession by utilizing a copier as a lie detector.
McNulty is drinking again and probably cheating on Beadie.
The police are not getting paid for overtime and all are upset.
Carcetti looks for more ways to cut the budget to make up for the school shortfall but he rejects help from the feds in return for turning over the Clay Davis investigation.
Marlo is extra careful with the major crimes unit watching him, but he is able to try to undermine Proposition Joe and start to look into the Greeks.
Michael and Dukie are working for Marlo.
Herc is working for Levy.
Bubbles is struggling to stay clean.
The Baltimore Sun crew is introduced and work on a story about councilwoman Campbell making real estate deals with a drug dealer in return for campaign contributions.
The mayor, Rawls and Burrell pull the plug on the major crimes unit and the Stanfield case, leaving just Freamon and Syndor to continue the Clay Davis investigation.
Random thoughts: Second season in a row where I do not really care for the version of the intro song.
Bunk is always there with some comic relief, first with the suspect, then at the bar as they contemplate holding up a liquor store to pay their tab. "Every plan has its weak link," as they look to a stumbling McNulty as their getaway driver.
It was pretty much a catch up episode. I understand they have a focus for each season, and news media is a good choice, but right now it seems a big distraction from all the other stuff and people I want to see.

Ehh, this season's theme is moderately better that last.
Man, the kids really grew up. Speaking of which, I hope you didn't read today's Newswire on the actor playing Dukie. I'm glad I finished powering through S5 the other day, because the comments are entirely discussion about the finale.

I paused my viewing of this episode to come here and say:
Gale Boetticherrrrrrrrrrrr!!! (and also Doug from FOTC) This makes me happy.
Man, I hope I'll get it together to post some actual thoughts about the series soon, but you know how binge watching goes.
