Summary:
The serial killer case blows up as McNulty's fake call and picture to Templeton hit the city. Money starts to flow in to the police and newspaper as they gear up. McNulty enjoys his new found power to distribute resources but starts to feel hectored like a boss.
Bunk questions Michael but gets nowhere and his evidence is still held up by the serial killer case.
Omar kills one of Marlo's soldiers and continues to disrupt the business while calling Marlo out.
Freamon captures images from Marlo's phone of clock faces.
Gus starts to unravel Templeton's lies after talking to a police officer about the crab lady story.
Clay Davis weasels his way out of a conviction in his trial by saying he gave all the money back to people in the street.
Bubbles shows another Sun reporter around the homeless.
Greggs fails at assembling Ikea furniture but has some bonding with her son.
Random thoughts:
I sure hope Clay Davis getting away with it is not an omen of what is to come for everyone else who is deserving of justice. I understand that not every bad person will get their just desserts, but some of them have to right?
Is Omar's leg getting worse? He did not have a crutch the last episode. He is keeping pretty busy for a "gimp" though as the kid points out. I think he is losing it.
I liked the crane and helicopter shots as the police converge on the cell phone and Syndor. Impressive for a TV show budget. I guess they could afford to pull out some stops this close to the end. Not sure I buy the speed of the reaction though, Syndor should have had enough time to get away clean. As it is, it could be suspicious how fast he got there.
Freamon was tainted the moment he bought into McNulty's insanity, but this was the first time I really disliked him. It is clear now that he is just as obsessive about winning as McNulty. McNulty is just another tool at his disposal. He almost makes me feel bad for McNulty and that is a dirty, dirty feeling. I wonder how Freamon felt about Clay Davis getting off? He did not seem as invested in that case as he used to be.
