Summary:
Freamon and Carver's surveillance team track Marlo to a major resupply by the Greeks. They pick up Marlo, Chris, Cheese and Monk.
Freamon tells Daniels that he has been secretly working Marlo's case, Daniels is happy to go along with it due to the pressure from the mayor to reduce crime.
Based on the warrants which of course say nothing about the illegal wiretap, Marlo figures Michael may have been the only one with close to enough info to talk to the cops.
Gus checks on Templeton's homeless vet story, finding it to be exaggerated.
Clay Davis tells Freamon about Levy and the lawyers working for the drug dealers.
Greggs talks to Carver and indicates she will rat out McNulty.
Bubbles makes some progress in getting over Sherrod's death while talking with the reporter.
Michael is suspicious of Snoop and figures out that she is going to kill him so he kills her first.
Michael takes Bug to a relative's house with a box of money and drops Dukie off with the junk dealers who are addicts.
Random thoughts:
Nice to see Colvin and Namond doing well. Not sure it was necessary but it does confirm what we suspected.
Herc, Herc, Herc... just after he does something good, he has to turn around and screw it all up. I don't understand how telling Levy about the wiretap does not risk himself for leaking it at least a little bit.
Great shot of Marlo's face as he rails about his name after finding out Omar was calling him out. His name is really the only thing he has.
Michael leaving Bug has to be one of the most heartbreaking scenes. Sadder than any one of them dying is the way in which they have to disengage with everyone around them.
So what is the best I can imagine for the final 90 minutes? McNulty and Levy in handcuffs?
Scheduling note:
Since the last episode is extra long, I may not get a review out until the middle of next week. Then I will try to post a wrap-up article before I leave on vacation next Friday. Thanks for sticking with the reviews for so long.
