Indiana Beach Crow is obviously on a DS9 binge, they've upvoted several comments of mine on the DS9 reviews recently. Still binging, though I'm sad to say I'm almost done with it. However, I have gotten to the point in the reviews where they introduced nuDisqus, and reliving that in the comments section is just as fun as it was the first time around. I AM SO SAD YOU ARE DONE ;_;

Bear in mind, this isn't just about shitty bands. It's about shitty writers for Vice who think there's something charming about a useless 30 year-old acting like an annoying 15 year-old who has just found out about Screeching Weasel, and think talking about a shitty band will distract everyone from their own shittiness. 68

HipsterDBag J. Goo โข 6 years ago Too stupid a conversation for a spoiler warning, but...
It appears from these comment boards that Allyson Hannigan is the consensus "most attractive girl" in the Buffyverse. Weird, since that was the exact opposite of what they'd originally been going for in casting the part (Willow was originally supposed to be overweight and actively unattractive, but the WB overruled Wheadon on the casting). I'd always been partial to Amy Acker, myself.

Judkins Major a month ago
I worked for a couple of months prepping in the kitchen of one of the the highest-end restaurants in town (which led to me getting my present job) and the dissonance from the entire male staff on female culinary skill was astounding (or should have been; not a lot surprises me anymore when it comes to the restaurant world). So many comments about "how women can't cook," that sort of thing. Guys, do you want them in the kitchen or not? Can't be one or the other. Thankfully, there's none of that at my present (and possibly lifelong) gig, but it just makes me all the more thankful I've managed to stay away from that world, for the most part.
--------------
I also just upvoted a comment of Sat's, on one of the contestants describing their food as "deconstructed." That was great.

Mass grows as the cube of size, but area only as its square, so you have to take into account surface areas of things like guts and lungs. If you double the size in all directions, the animal has 8x the mass but only 4x the bone cross section, 4x the surface area of skin, lungs, gut, so would need to compensate in other ways - by coiling the intestines up, having lungs with branching bronchi etc. Haldane's essay On Being The Right Size is an interesting discussion of size and proportion. Gravity would help you with bones as they no longer have to support so much weight, but a lower gravity planet would be less able to hold onto an oxygenating atmosphere so you might need even bigger lungs to compensate. 10

One guy has been upvoting all my Dissolve comments. At first I just assumed he was going through the old movies of the week, but now heโs upvoting a ton of comments I made in other places on the site, too. Itโs getting kind of weird and stalker-ish, though at least this stalker remains more interested in me a year ago than me now.
