I watched it right through, no skipping and i kinda want 20 minutes back as compensation. It's a ridiculous parody that goes on slightly too long before switching gears into something dark then looping back into parody and just doubling down on the mindfuck because coherency is too hard when out of ideas... Wow, don't think outside the box too hard there, Adult Swim. I know your specific raison d'être is shit that doesn't make sense but come on. Critics like our very own swagonion can overanalyse it like Oliver Sava reviewing Adventure Time like it has a deeper meaning but no, it's not deep nor insightful, more "hah, we're fucking with cultural touchstones!" by hack writers who barely scraped through college and just throw everything at the wall to see what sticks, the more fucked up and meaningless the better. Crap like that should have remained jammed at 4am where nobody could see it. |

I can only hope that one day this is what replaces Bob Burgers, but of course with Tina integrated into the new show, which entertain us not only when it's on, but also when it's not, as those of us who get it - which is to say, the only people who matter enjoying the only show that matters - can scoff, or pity if we feel like being nice to the non-people, at those who lack the intellectual prowess and refined cultural palate to appreciate the majesty in their midst.

It was a dumb and fun 10 minute thing, nothing more than that. All it was trying to be was amusing and I think it did the job. I think the reason why people got so sucked into it wasn't really because it is some piece of art that has some grand underlying meaning to it, but the fact that someone actually ended up making it a reality.

So, the new Adult Swim infomercial premiered. Am I the only one who thinks it's actually great? Like, I think it's legitimately, unironically really fantastic. It helps that the person who plays the mom is a really great actress. Also, for the people who went on the fake website and clicked on the house: How far did you get? I buried the present in the backyard, but I don't know what else, if anything else, is supposed to happen. |
