Last week on Dark Eyes 3: The Doctor is kidnapped by Narvin of the CIA. The Master, Sally Armstrong, and Molly O'Sullivan help (?) some colonists fight back against the Eminence and the Infinite Warriors.
This week on Dark Eyes 3: The Doctor meets up with med tech Liv Chenka and locks horns with the Master's companion, Sally Armstrong.
IN THE PAST: Humans have colonized the planet Romosa, at first displacing the indigenous higher lifeforms, a sort of cockroach-scorpion hybrid called the Romosi.
We pause here for a brief Futurama interlude:
But then the Romosi (and not "Foamasi" as I originally heard, thinking they were the folks from the forgettable Eighth Doctor Adventure Placebo Effect, which I haven't reviewed here yet because ugh), having gained some technology, turn the tables and start subjugating the humans.
The episode starts off with a human trying to escape the Romosi patrols and getting shot for his troubles. The Romosi wonders to himself why it is so difficult to protect them, it turns out the Romosi are herding up the humans to protect them from the Infinite Warriors. But in a very shitty manner, as the humans have barely any food, clean water, facilities, or shelters.
Liv Chenka (who I didn't mention last episode, but left 1970s Earth somehow, made her way somehow to this planet, and somehow to this timeβwhen the Doctor shows up, he apologizes for misplacing Liv) is providing humanitarian relief to the colonists under the auspices of the Earth Alliance. It turns out the medicine she's brought for the colonists has been tampered with by the CIA and instead of healing would kill them, which pisses the Doctor right off. (This is not the end of the CIA's meddling. It never is.)
The Master has sent Sally Armstrong to deal with the Romosi (presumably he's off doing something with Molly?) and she's a good antagonist on her own. I enjoyed her friction with the Doctor.
Anyway. The Infinite Warriors are on their way, and once they arrive, they'll infect all the colonists and kill all the Romosi. Although the Doctor says at the beginning of the episode, "I can't save everyone, but I will save everyone I can," apparently that only counts for humans here, as he arranges for Liv to get the colonists offworld and leave the Romosi to their fate. Liv runs and preps the shuttle, and the colonists duly shuffle in. Except WAIT what's that? The Master's TARDIS materialized around them and stole them all away to get immunized by Molly's retrogenitor particles! And the CIA, always ones to cover their tracks, set the shuttle to explode, thereby killing all the colonists, had they been aboard!
At this point, the Doctor's basically like, "Fuck this noise. Let's just go change history and make sure none of this ever has the chance to happen." Liv asks what about the laws of time. "FUCK THE LAWS OF TIME, NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO CAREβWHY SHOULD I? FUCK THE EMINENCE, FUCK THE CIA, FUCK THE MASTER, FUCK EVERYTHING."
I really enjoyed this episode.
Available from Big Finish.

Brain Ball #1: Wait, stop! We give in to all of Earth's demands. The war is over. Our home planet is yours.
Fry: Alright! Hey, wait a minute! This is your home planet? We're the evil, invading aliens?
Brain Ball #2: Correct.
Bender: Then I guess you learned a valuable lesson: Don't mess with Earth.
Brain Ball #1: May you bounce in peace.
Bender: Get the hell off my planet.
