Anyone have interest in this show coming to Amazon soon? It looks like something between Blade Runner and Brazil in terms of set design. I'm a huge fan of Dick. That's right, you heard me, "I LOVE DICK!!! PHILIP K. DICK." This was the first PKD novel I ever read. Based on appearances and clips, this looks like a winner to me.

Wow, it actually streams on Amazon Prime UK!
Loved it: it's not my most-read Dick book, but the look and atmosphere are excellent, and there's the best Blade Runner sight gag. And it also enhanced my Alexa Davelos crush: she's maturing into a Robin Wright-level adult beauty, and she was stunning to start with.

Wow, it actually streams on Amazon Prime UK! Like Netflix, Amazon Prime UK has the entirety of the US's original content streaming library (Transparent, Mozart In The Jungle, etc.), and also like Netflix, it has various series exclusive for UK broadcast (like Vikings and Extant, both of which it showed a day after US airing.) Unlike Netflix, however, Amazon Prime's streaming service is not available in Ireland. ...anyway, I'm eagerly waiting to get a hold of this in the event I ever do. To my knowledge it is the second TV series ever made based on a Philip K. Dick (and I too am a Dickhead, a name that Dick's daughter Isa Hackett suggested be used for his fans.) The first, of course, is Total Recall 2070:

This was so great. It got the tone of the book and Dick in general (heh) so well. Like Iffy, I am going to be very sad if it doesn't get picked up.
Also, I loved how spooky that version of the song for the intro was. I hope if it gets picked up they keep that intro throughout the series.

I really liked it. It excels at world-building where lots of sci-fi shows fail miserably; these worlds feel lived in and they feel strangely authentic. This is what the US might look like if they lost WWII. I also like how it adapts the book; changing The Grasshopper Lies Heavy to a movie composed of actual newsreels from this reality is kinda brilliant. And there's a nice strand of dark humor throughout that i liked; the nazi sheriff nonchalantly explaining that the ashes in the air are from the local hospitals "kill the disabled" day had me burst out laughing and horrified at the same time.
Needless to say, I hope it gets picked up.

Ohhh, how I remember loving that show. Such a wonderfully, depressingly realistic take on the near-ish future. In many ways, dystopias are only fascinating or chilling to the degree that they feel like they could really happen, and Total Recall 2070 felt all too possible. And a fantastic theme song to boot!

Episode 2 was so good. I was on the end of my seat for at least five minutes towards the end of it. One of my housemates, who hadn't seen episode 1 and knew nothing about the show, was also on the edge of her seat and turned to me after and said "That was intense! What is this, I gotta watch it!".
