I discovered the other day that there is a book based on the execrable holiday nightmare, "The Christmas Shoes". Apparently it came out in 2001, and I guess we were all otherwise too occupied to notice this. My library bought a digital copy of it recently, which is how I found out.  While looking for this image, I also discovered that there is a movie based on the book that was based on the song, and the movie stars Rob Lowe. I don't want to live on this planet any more. |

I'm flabbergasted. I mean, I know Obama was coming for your guns, but what the hell else were these people scared of? Higher taxes? I mean, yes, every poor USAan is a temporarily embarrassed millionaire, but still. Who is this fortress against? IRS agents with grappling hooks?

I flipped through the book, and fucko is going off on soldiers, too... "45% of returning veterans are claiming 'disability'... No nation can afford this." (His scare quotes.)
Finally, fucko describes himself as a Capitalist Evangelist. Unless he is going by the literal definition and talking about the "good news" of capitalism and preaching its gospel... um... did he miss the whole thing about eyes of needles, and selling everything you own?

This probably doesn't belong in the "Media I've Been Avoiding My Whole Life" thread, as I've only become aware of it earlier this week when I had an ad for it on my Kindle. But it look so ill-advised I had to share it. Actually looking it, the blurb makes it even more ridiculous "It was my home run ball that shattered her face.

I have to admit Iβm kind of upset they went with an obviously modern breed instead of something like a Molossian or Egyptian hound (although given that they also went with Anglo Jesus itβs not too surprising, but stillβ¦). |
