What the hell is with that upside-down world map? New Zealand is not on it in most of those images, but then it is in the last one? Did they realise after a certain point they left us off it and fixed it? The number of times I see world maps on TV with us cut off it just because we're all the way down in the corner... This one didn't even have that excuse with the date line being on the edges.

Did they realise after a certain point they left us off it and fixed it? Presumably. As for what the issue with the map is generally, well, it's a matter of perspective - there's no 'right' way to position a map of the Earth, there's just one we're accustomed to. (In the medieval Islamic world, maps were actually that way around - this map may seem way off until you realise that, and then there's a lot of it which isn't half bad.)

So, this kinda annoyed me. In a way, it's emblematic of why I stopped tuning in to the Nightly Show; the panel usually has one unfunny idiot, and often enough they all are. They've had some excellent guests, to be fair, but by and large I don't think Wilmore is that good of a host, and whenever I've seen the show, the guests have been somewhere between mediocre and execrable. While I may have just seen some bad episodes, it's been more than enough to turn me off the entire show, unfortunately. I liked Wilmore on TDS, but his show has been nothing short of disappointing.

I stopped watching after the first few weeks, though I do keep meaning to check back in. Wilmore was a favorite of mine on The Daily Show, and while I can't say he'd be more successful with that format, I really don't like the panel format they've got now. In fact, except for Britain's QI, I don't like any panel show.
But then, I also check out of most late night shows once the interview starts, and refuse to watch those shmoozy Tonight Show-style celebrity interviews. I won't listen to interview-based podcasts either. I think what I'm really saying is that I hate guests.
