Anyone else watching the current season of South Park? They're doing a season-long arc of sorts, and the episodes have been uniformly excellent (apart perhaps from the first, which is still pretty good). I had stopped watching it regularly, but it's become my favourite show so far this fall.

I'm surprised we don't already have a thread for such an institution of a show, especially one like South Park that still manages to make the news now and again.
I feel like after Stone and Parker blindsided us last year with a season-long arc that managed to build into something spectacular and be funny all along the way, my expectations for this season might be a tad unfairly high. I'm glad they've kept the long-form narrative arc this season, and the ongoing themes of hipster and/or yuppie-fication of America hits me square. Like, I recognize why SoDoSoPa is a joke, but I also kind of love places like that. If I'm feeling a little down on this season, it's because I haven't found it as funny as last season. The Yelp episode, for example, was spot on with its satire but didn't deliver any laughs until its outrageous ending.
I've got faith, though. I feel like they're once again building to something really great, and I can't wait to see where they go with all of this.
